"Adam will be charged shortly for first-degree murder."<p>Investigators said Adam Sapikowski was a junior at Durham Academy, and they do not know the motive for the killings.<p>"We have no record here in Chapel Hill that he’s ever been in trouble," Jarvis said.<p>Jarvis said the investigation began Friday evening at about 9:30 when an out-of-state relative called the department to report that she had been unable to contact her family in Chapel Hill.<p>Officers responded to the relative's concern and found the bodies of James Sapikowski, 52, and Alison Powell Sapikowski, 49, inside their residence early Saturday morning.<p>"They were very fine people," said Rich Gonzales, one of the Sapikowskis' neighbors.<p>He said he did not notice anything unusual at the house, except that the Sapikowskis' driveway lights had been on for at least a week.<p>"It's very numbing when something like this happens," Gonzales said. "We don’t think those things occur in our area of the world, but it's right across the street from where I live."<p>Investigators have not determined what time the shootings occurred.<p>"It appears from a preliminary investigation of the scene that the deaths occurred several days ago," Jarvis said.<p>Police are still investigating the scene, and they are continuing to interview neighbors, friends and family to try to find a motive for the killings and to find out when the deaths actually happened.<p>They also said they would speak with people affiliated with Durham Academy to find out if Adam Sapikowski was in school this past week.<p>The headmaster at Durham Academy said there would be counselors at the school on Monday.<p>Adam Sapikowski, who lived with his parents, is being held in the Orange County Jail without bond.</blockquote><p>Am I the only one disgusted by this? It is absolutely atrocius that anyone would kill their parents...this guy needs to be given a life sentence, at the very least. The (very small) pro-capital punishment part of me says he needs a death sentence, and for a crime of this horridness, I agree, even though it goes against what I normally stand for.

Who is Adam Sapikowski...?<p>Anyway, you know not of the background, his parents could've been real bastards, beating their son or worse.<p>You can't judge things like this, with this little infomation, and absolutly(spelling?) not with a death sentence involved! <p>Also, death sentence is just stupid, will always be, has always been. What do you do if proof comes up and you killed an innocent man?<p> No, and I'd say, if a bastard killed someone I know, I'd rather have him rot in a cell for his entire life, then letting him die, "realising him" from his punishment. Death penalty...should be enforced.<br>But only for humane cases. People who kill like that aren´t afraid of death. How can you ever punish with death someone who would be willing to take it? Is that a punishment at all? It is illogical, would only fill up our savage senses to see someone dying rather than properly punishing the one who must be punished. Would only place us in the same level as them.<p>May them live, and long, and watch them ruin under their madness.
