It's not that the online assholes don't know that there is a human being behind the medium -- the computer -- it's just that thay don't care. I mean, if you say that you're upset by so-an-so's insult on the forum your being picked on, they'll probably make fun of you more than they did before, because in their eyes, they see it as a sign of weakness to exploit. No, the best way to not let it bother you anymore on moderated online communities is to either report it to a moderator, or to simply not care by ignoring them. Ask yourself this: is it really worth it to get upset over what some prat says to you online who doesn't even know who you are or what you achieved in real life?
