I hope for more of a mix for this one. Online functionality with a meat and two veg offline story. although saying that Yuji Naka said they will be using PSOBB online server side saves. Hints to online only.

Most MMO's don't have a followthough storyline, you make your own storyline out of your character, thats the whole point of it. I was a standered RPG I'm so bored of MMO's just consently repeating each other over and over again, they don't get more fun, they don't get better, they don't get unique.<p>Although I do admit I find a MMO based in a world relatively like the world of Algo somewhat apealing.

Well, thats what MMO is....creating your own story in a "world that IS unique". It is unique because thats what makes all MMOs different. The weapons, the techs, the whole idea of Numans, Humans, Androids. The idea of corruption in technology and the dark force that wreaks havoc in the PS series. How muhc more unique do you want?

A PS styled one might work, however I don't see anything good coming out of play PSO, sure PSO was fun the the worlds got old easy and they're the same maps over and over again, that got old really fast for me.<p>This game has a lot of potential, waht I can see would be a really cool and really good thing was if they have a story mode then a seperate mode where you can have a MMORPG set up so you make your own character and it goes along into the story itself, perhaps even partying up with the main hero's for a short time would be cool as well. PSU has a lot of poentinal, its up to Sega on what they plan to do with it.

I would like to see more offline Phantasy Stars, but a new MMO is cool. I couldn't play PSO for certain reasons, but since this is on the PS2, it's awesome.

I don't mind the offline/online mode set-up, its a good thing. I just wouldn't enjoy using story characters as much as my own character. And we all know, online play will cost money, and If I have to pay to use my own character, and not be able to use him offline, I wont be to happy...
