How will it be like PSO? And where did you hear this?
If it's online I've already lost all hope for it. >.>

Everyone says it's going to be like PSO. The truth is that they are assuming and just want it to be like that.
A while back, there was an interview with Event Scene Director of Phantasy Star Universe. He was a big fan of the original games, and hopes to do them justice. Since he is the Event Scene Director (emphasis on event), we can safely assume that it will be a standard RPG.

Well, at the moment we can't safely assume anything. We just don't have enough information. But I hope it's going to be close to the original series.

Well, I know the answer to that. One of my friends in London is a Sega game tester.. he played PSU and told me info about it... I'll post about this in the PS news page soon or the upcoming PSU section here.

thanks! ^_^
you kids shouldn't be sad if it ends up like PSO.
in fact it could be online and still have a story tied to it.
But I really loved PSO's character creation and combat (it's just that it lacked exploration and a immersive world like FF11.
PSO was just designed to be a dungeon hacker pretty much. yet it's still pretty fun.
If it is in the hands of someone who wants to do the old games justice, I feel more at ease.

I just know that if it's a MMORPG..
I'm going to work all day to get my damn fishing to 100 to catch a gold fishy, and then learn there is no damn gold fishies in the lake while Laco and Siren go off questing and get rare items and the gold I wanted to get from selling the fish!
I hope to god it's not a MMORPG like Evercrack/UO/Runescape..
It's bad enough Runescape copied UO x.x

But if its not MMORPG....then what do you do after you beat the game?
If its one thing that game designers are scared of when it comes to RPGs is replay value....and making games online greatly increases that value.
I wouldn't be playing PSO right now if I didn't plan on going back online.

Episode 3 has more online replayability than Episode 1/2!
You've got tournaments every 30 minutes, Meseta, Shops, Contests, etc..
You can play practically anyone and enjoy yourself online.
