Phantasy Star Universe

I saw the trailer, and I'm going to say this:
This was just a teaser. I doubt it has much relevance to the game, but rather its purpose was to stir up some publicity, and to let people know that Sega is doing something with Phantasy Star. That being said, I think people are dwelling too much on something that is only a teaser. Patience, friends. We're not going to know what PSU is about for a while yet, so don't give yourself an aneurism analyzing this little tidbit.
Also, I thought that the trailer was borderline embarassingly over the top...

If anyone remembers..
When PSO was announced in 2000, Sega made 2 teaser trailers.
Lots of the stuff seen in them never made it to the game...
So we can't take the trailer as proof

Yes I agree with you. I also believe this was just a little showing that they have decided to start some action in PSO again.
I still believe it will be online...because of the day and age we are in.

You can naysay all you want but I don't think Sega will release TWO MMOP of PHANTASY STAR in the same year. All their twin releases
of certain franchises were different type of games in the RPG genre. I can't see why Sega would n't(If they are) employ that here.
There was a recent interview from the leader of Sonic Team stating that they will concentrate
more on the ps2 which suggests whatever games from Sonic Team is coming out in the near future may be headed on this system. Does that mean PSU may be coming to PS2? Maybe maybe not but that 's what I was commenting on because it fits in to it already. Also many sites have said that the game will be offline but Sega officially has n't said anything.

Regarding what platform it's going to be on...
Judging by some previous releases I would think that it would come out for most modern consoles eventually... That is, ps2, cube, etc... Seeing as sega was developing for gba and gamecube for awhile.
oh, and one quick thing...

No head bangers? Not another, but two others as well. Mizehrith and myself are both 'ead bangers. We love Eddie! Here is one zombified hand that will salute you, Josiah.
Have you listened to the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album? I bought it months ago, and it was very worth it. There is honestly not one bad song on the whole CD...

It's been awhile though, so I can't remember much apart from the keyboards... I think that was the first maiden cd that used keyboards, no? Or at least used them prominently... The chorus of the title cut still sticks in my head to this day, though.
;)
While I love bands like Maiden, I also listen to a lot of heavier stuff... (no start 'n stop heavy/sappy nu metal though :p ) Bands like Children of Bodom, (the vocals grew on me over time) and even Strapping Young Lad. (the most extreme metal band I have ever heard without crossing into the realm of 'music' known as grindcore) Mostly it's good old heavy metal/thrash metal/etc that I listen to... So I guess I can still be called a zombified 'ead banger :p
...quick... I'd better say something phantasy star related... ~0

The last update concerning PSU mentioned what Sega officially said about the game and what the rumors were that the game was offline. They have not said for definate that the game is offline. They're uually good on their info and seem very pro sega. I'm speculating in what Sega's doing that it will be an offline title. If it isn't then paying for two MMORPG of the same game to use their server will be expensive.
Side note: I too am a Maiden fan and heard they were touring again this year. With this and preist getting Halford back, this year is looking sweet to me already!
In my view it would be a waist to release it on PS2, not because I hate Sony or anything like that but recently evrithing was about the new new generation: PS3, XBox2 Revolution said to be released in the end of the year 2005 for the best or 2006.
It's would be sad for Sega to put so much effort in a game to finaly come in the end of 2005 after the party is over.
If they want to be talked about with phantasy star at least once in their life time they should put phantasy star Universe not only as one of the first game of new new generation but also as one of the humongest, most incredible game of the moment. (Sorry to say that but despite me loving phantasy star, I barely find an other phantasy star fan once in a year in real life I mean, mastersysteme and megadrive were good but not as talked about as famicom and supernes were... Then PSO for Dreamcast was a big thing only in gamers heart and when it came up 2years later on Cube and Box it end up to be a new old game, people heard about saying it to be good without really knowing it. People were already blinded by FFX devil may cry, Wind waker or even Halo).
I might be wrong, I am not a profesional at all and I hope I won't offend people but it's the way I see phantasy star, always in a shadow
Actually, there was a beta session for PSU announced last november/decemberish.
According to Missagh, someone he knows was beta testing it.
PSO for the DC had a beta test period, so did PSO episode 3 for GC.
Whether it is true or not..
PSU might already be finished.
