wacky PSIV save-stave hacking tool

Postby salviati » Thu Sep 13, 2007 10:04 pm

I know there're already PSIV (gens) save-state hacking tools in windows, but I haven't found any for Unices, so this might be use of someone:

Have fun :)

Edit: Since it has no README file for now, it may be aa good idea to post what it does here.

Features by 0.2.0
  • Edit mesetas
  • character stats (str,agi,dex,mental,exp,level,current & max hp & tp)
  • equipped items (armor, helmet, weapons)

If it's in Java, it'll work on any OS that has a Java Virtual Machine.

Thanks! Feel free :) I've recently fixed some typos in man file.

Ah, that's the case if you have a x86 based arch.

Hapsby looks like a lot better project, it's a generic tool in the first place! It's a free software and almost platform-independent, what else one can expect :) (well, since it's a GUI-only program, you can't use it if you don't have X, though :/) It can edit only max TP/HP and EXP of a character for now, but adding new things are straightforward. The site says it can edit both Genecyst and Gens PSIV save-states, but there's one hsd file for PSIV, so i guess Gens has the same save-state format as Genecyst. Thanks a lot for mentioning it, thriwren!

I've noticed a silly bug and uploaded fixed version (0.2.0). I also edited the first post in this thread, to clarify what it does.

Technically all you have to do is change the file extension on the save state.

Aka Genecyst to Kgen

PS2.GS1 to PS2.KS1

Etc..
