Tell my tale to those who ask it. Tell it truly, the evil deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest... is silence.

The official title as of right now is Phantasy Star Portable. However, that may change when it comes out. Hence, PSP on PSP.

From what I can tell, it is a Playstation Portable version of the PSU expansion pack Ambition of the Illuminus. And they are saying it will play much like PSO.

This will be the fourth PS game on the PSP. (the other three being ports of PSII, PSIII, and PSIV on the Sega Genesis Collection)

I never really liked the newer Phantasy Star games, they do not even connect to the older storys in any way what so ever, or so far as i have seen they do not.
I would not hate the online ones so much either if they connected more to the originals.. but they do not.. it is very sad to me really.

Meh, just a port of PSU to the PSP. Nothing to write home about.

I think it's kind of silly to like or dislike a game solely because of no connection to a finished series that you are all nostalgic about. So if a loose connection would be defined, suddenly it's a good game? That doesn't make sense. :(

Does not have to make sence, it is how i feel about it, get over it.
And if they are going to call it Phantasy Star anything it needs to connect to the originals.
Let's look at it like this, if they made a game called... say.. Sonic the hedgehog 5 and it did not have anything to do with sonic, would you still like it? Just as an example... to me they call these so called Phantasy Star games Phantasy Star just to get peoples attention but it has nothing to do with being an actual Phantasy Star game period.
And im not being nastolgic, they are not Phantasy Star games in my eyes, they just went with a title people knew.. they should have made these games a new brand all their own.
It is not being nastolgic it is wanting a real sequel.

If it still was a Sonic game in that it's a platformer where one of the main goals is running fast, and it's good, yes, I would like it.

In my eyes, these are still Phantasy Star games in that you have several 'races', similar Techniques, and most importantly, the mix of fantasy and sci-fi. They didn't just slap on the Phantasy Star title.

I'd like to play it if I had a PSP, I like to support the franchises I like so they keep doing new games, but before I really make an opinion about it I'll wait until they release more information.

For me who can't play PSU: AoI because I lack online access on my PS2, It may be a good opportunity to know how the story of the Gurhal system progresses.

I'm interpreting what he's saying as the original titles had unity in their storylines; that's what made them such a great compilation of games. No other RPG's of the day (that I could think of) built a world that existed with continuity through an entire 4 titles.

While the names of techniques are the same and Rappys are still around, the magic of an cohesive world that Phantasy Star so eloquently created is gone.

PSU is like a grandparent with alzheimers. They look similar, they might even sound similar but they aren't the same person you knew or loved.

I don't know how well this will sell seeing as the only game I've seen worthy of playing on a PSP was FFVII:CC and a other games that I can't remember the names to.

Wow, thankyou.. you got what i was saying.. no one else was getting it.

PSU looked more worth playing then PSO... but after how PSO turned out.. i just did not want to spend anymore money on the Phantasy Star brand.

I guess the other thing was how hard PSO was for me..
I never beat it at all.. i got really far though..

What would have gotten me to care more about these games would also be the music... the only song i heard in PSO that was any good to me was the one as you go through that training place i think it was.. on episode 2 i think.

Is PSD or U or what ever it is called on the PSP a port of PSO or PSU?

I dunno bout ya'll, but I already want to jump on this one, since I use my PSP very much, primarily due to it's modded nature, which is how I am able to currently get my PS fix, since my patience for console games is null, am almost never home anymore.

I had a lot of fun playing PSO, and it plays similarily, I'd buy it.

That's something else I forgot to mention. As soon as I get a keyboard, I'm going to start writing some songs to put into these games.

The Guardian Legend will be 80% remix songs. The other 20% will be original.

I play guitar, bass, and keyboards in a heavy metal band (when we workshop. On stage it's guitar) so I have a little experiance in this sort of thing.
