Favorite PS enemy?

Discuss anything related to the Phantasy Star series

Well. I haven't thought this much but I like King Lava From PS II just because you get 13944 exp by killing it. It's way more than what you get from boss enemies.
Neifirst: 1111 exp
Dark Force: 2222 exp

At the moment nothing else comes to mind. ;P

I would have said Zio, but he killed Alys and destroyed Molcom village. My vote goes for Juza (Zio's follower, the boss that blocks your path to him). My reason for choosing him is because he's got many awesome techs such as Force Flash. It just looks really great and the damage it deals is also pretty decent.

Among my favorites is of course, Zio. The outfit is akin to something I'd wear, and the nihilistic attitude kinda gives him his own air, at least the way he puts it.

I always did have a liking for fighting the Wren series androids in the tech-zones os PSIV, robo-goodness.
Once I was Valis Warrior, and then the Redeemer. But now, I am back, with 7 years experience to my belt here.

Call me weird, but I always liked the Sandworms and the Locusta series of monsters...

But I also agree about Zio. I have a phobia of Rappies... they're just too happy and bright.

I don't think it's strange. The sandworm and Locust type monsters are one of the best animated enemies in PSIV. Out of the normal monsters, they're my favorite. That's why I have the sandworm in my signature. :D

Sandworms are awesome by their sheer size. And they're archetypal. Desert planets must have them.

I like the Locust ones from I and IV, and the face from PSIII that wiggles its ears at ya and the Mooses that look like Godzilla.

Prophallus

Postby Zucca » Tue Sep 09, 2008 10:25 pm

I have second opinion now.
Prophallus, because it really scared the hell out of me when it just appeared and I wasn't expecting a boss enemy. :D After the battle I was a bit disappointed because it was just a regular "edge stalker" after all.

Sandworms are in place two...

I don't count any boss enemies here. Dark Force with It's twisted mind (especially PSII one) would be one then. Since I count Dark Force as like a liquid enemy* it pretty much counts as every Dark Force.

* An entity that leaked into Algo in small drops (all named Dark Force) who finally tried to break the whole seal, (as Profound Darkness, the whole pool of that liquid). So basically this makes Prophallus one little drop of Profound Darkness and a "little Dark Force", a bit weaker version of Dark Falz.

My favorite enemy would have to be the so far unmentioned Ra-Fez (I think that was his name) in the anger tower. The whole experience I'm sure built not only my anger but also Chaz's. Baited with an illusion of Alys, forced to make a difficult decision, and then there was me at like 12 who figured "Ya know, maybe that Alys thing is a hint, maybe if you fight him and win you can get her back!"

After several hours of gameplay I decided that this must not be the case, nothing that had a basis in the story would be that impossible. When I look back on it I realize I was being extra stupid.

Side note: How do we know Prophallus is a weaker version of the original Dark Falz? They're obviously the same creature (Or very similar at least) but for all we know Chaz and Co are much much more powerful than the original heroes. Think about it, Chaz has Elsydeon with the spirits of ALL the previous protectors in it and Rune has Five generations of Lutz in him. For all we know, being closer to their source, the Prophalli could be MORE powerful than the original beast. (Just saying).

Good point. I have to totally agree with you on that.

Personally, my favorite enemy would have to be either Lashiec or Dark Force. I don't know why, but I find enemies that recur throughout a game or series completely awesome. Oh, by the way, this is my first post on the website. Viva Phantasy Star!

Sari was cool, but if your party was in good condition and at a fairly high level, it was easy. But she is cool, though.

I also like Saccubus. The nightmare in PS1.
Because it was meant to be only a-fight-you-won't-propably-win-and-don't-need-to-win, but I have kicked that nightmare's butt every time. :D
I am NaN!

Wait, you DON'T have to beat Saccubus? Geez, and here I fought for my frickin' life. Of course, I won lol. After The first encounter with Asch in Tales of the Abyss, though, EVERY fight seems easy...
