Timeline, questions... ALL PS FANS READ

Postby Edge » Wed Mar 24, 2010 12:09 am

I'm trying to get the timeline correct concerning Orakio, and Laya... "Daren" gave me a site with the full time line figured out from all Phantasy Star Games included... The site was "http://www.phantasy-star.net/psu/psutime.html"... From what I have gathered, as far as the history of Phantasy Star III was... Was this!!

AW 1283
The Palman's begin constructing Siren, and other cyborgs like him... Siren is the first to be completed (as indicated in PS3...)

AW 1284 (damn near AW 1285)
Siren is completed, as the first Wren-Type cyborg. (This is sheer assumption)

AW 1286
Wren is completed, and Palma is destroyed... Which came first isn't answered by Sega...

AW 1291 (5 years after all 400 ships have left Palma in the nick of time)
All but 2 ships (Alisa III, and Neo Palm) have been destroyed by Dark Force... Dark Force instigates the war between Orakio
and Laya at this time.

AW 1293 (7 years after all 400 ships have left Palma in the nick of time, 2 years after the war between Laya and Orakio started)
Orakio, Laya, Lune, Siren, and Miun battle and defeat Dark Force... Lune, Siren, and Miun live this battle, Orakio and Laya seal
Dark Force within the water shrine on Landen, but die in the process of doing so...

Once Dark Force is defeated, in the nick of time, he possesses Rulakir, Orakio's brother, who will become evil, by the power
Dark Force has to offer, and will remain so, for the next 1,000 years through the power of his hatred towards Laya.

SIDE NOTE: AW 2292
Maia washes up on Shore, starting the game "Phantasy Star III"

-------------------------------------------------------------

As far as you all know, is this timeline correct, and if it isn't, what am I missing, or forgetting here?

No, that timeline isn't correct. Its purpose is to have a timeline that supports Mike's fanfics and theories (I don't think Maxx wrote any fanfics).

PSIII's position in the timeline is vague. The elders from New Mota say that 1000 years ago they escaped from Parma. When they say that, we're in the third generation. But it's also been 1000 years since the opening of PSIII that the Orakio-Laya war took place.

I still don't understand how the idea that PSIII takes place 2000 years after PSII in the Japanese continuity originated.

Then wouldn't this IMPLY Orakio and Laya originated from Palma? They never said they DIDN'T... Perhaps the two of them got onto Alisa III, and began fighting... The only problem I see in this theory, would be the fact there would have to be TWO dark forces, as shortly after Palma was destroyed, Rolf and company defeated Dark Force...

Edit: Also Wren's age in PS4 would imply this theory as well, and I do believe he mentions he had traveled with the original cast at some point... I forget when, but I think he does... I may be confused or just flat out right remembering shit wrong.

No, I think I'm wrong... I guess he's just a WREN-TYPE... but even so, wouldn't he need to be constructed by Orakio?

Yes.

Someone finish the PSIII retranslation already. :(

That's not a problem, because the Earthmen brought a Dark Force with them. The Dark Force on the Alisa III would then be the one that spawned when PSII took place.

No, why? Orakio didn't invent ren-types.

Hmmm... Okay, that's what I was always thinking myself... I don't understand the whole "Orakio has to of been born on Alisa III" theory...

Fair point!! Thank you VERY much... That information is actually extremely helpful. I appreciate it.

No, why? Orakio didn't invent ren-types.

I was under that impression, for a few reasons...

A) We know the cyborgs fought for Orakio against Laya's army...

B) Siren, the first Wren-Type cyborg, is an Orakian...

C) Wren (from PS3), and Mieu (As well as Siren, and Miun) were under orders given by Orakio to assist his decendants... I guess, in theory, since there were no Wren-types, OR Siren(wren-type) cyborgs known in Phantasy Star II, yet they were fighting for Orakio in the start of Alisa III's known history, chances were, Orakio either constructed them (Seeing as he has an ARMY of Cyborgs), or some extremely (beyond stupid) loyal mechanic was making them for him, and despite that person would have all the power being the creator of the cyborgs, handed that power over to someone else (Orakio). Think about it...

Anything else doesn't really make much sense... To me anyway, other opinions are MORE than welcome!

Side Note: For argument purposes to come, Miun assists you no longer than you find "Orakio's Black Sword"... Siren doesn't have many answers in his mystery.

Just because Orakio had a lot of ren-type cyborgs (androids in JP version) under his command doesn't mean he invented ren-types. It's certainly possible if he was born on Parma, but there's no real indication that he did.

That he was able to program ren-types isn't necessarily an extraordinary feat. Remember that people on Parma in PSII were highly advanced.

Yeah, but... Was Orakio filthy freakin' rich or what? How many people on Palma, controlled an ENTIRE ARMY of crborgs, enough to nearly wipe all civilization from Alisa III?

He wasn't just a Parmanian; he was the leader of his faction. Either he got a factory to use, or faction members pooled resources.

One wonders where all the factories and bio-plants are hidden on the Alisa III, in any case. :)

I'm guessing the compendium is the culprit, or perhaps rather Rebecca's translation thereof (in thee sense that it introduced the concept to the English speaking community, I'm not implying that she made a mistake!). At least according to the Japanese wikipedia page on PSIII, it does take place 2000 years after PSII. The source they cite for this is the compendium.

Any screen shots? I been playing the Japanese version, to reach Sage Isle and see what they say... I dunno Japanese but I do know their numbers are the same in video games...

One thing I've found ALREADY to be interesting...

In the intro, it starts saying 1,000, which I'm guessing it's saying 1,000 years ago.......

The part where Maia is stolen, Rhys is told "No one has seen a Layan in 1,000 years" this part was taken out...

I'ma upload the screens, BUT, check out this last screen shot... 1sec...
