I've also tried to list the bosses, sub-bosses and possible episode they would appear, per game.

Do I have to limit this to 12 episodes? Because PSII, despite having almost no script, actually has quite a lot going on in its story. Just check out Ill-Intent's fan manga sometime. He's only done four "issues" and the characters aren't even through Shure yet. It's not like he's really drawing out the story on purpose, either.

Ill-Intent's fan manga is some sort of PS2 manga version? How do I get there? I forgot how to...


Also, I'm really thankful of your help but couldn't you really try to set it to 12/13eps? I'm sure it wouldn't go further than that.


P.S.: Does Musk Cats appear on PS2? Never played through the game so I don't have the slightest idea

Not sure I'm understanding your question. Ill-intent has a fan manga of Phantasy Star II. What do you mean by "version"?

If adapts the game's events closely or is it just some spin-off of sorts?

His manga so far follows the original game nearly perfectly, only with a much needed fleshing out of the story.

A 12-episode anime of PSII would suck. I'm sure you could condense all the stuff I posted, but not to 12 episodes.

I know, but you must take into account how a game have it's story adapted to another format (manga/anime)...

Have you played PS1 or PS4 to the end? Can you say if the way I divided their stories into this post's chapters are too condensed or well set?
I'd be thankful.

I am taking into account the different format. I explained in my other post that the game's script is near nil and that to bring it to an anime format, you'd have a lot more to cover than what's in the game. I've thought about doing my own novelization of PSII and sat down and outlined the game, and holy cripes, it's long.

As much as I love PSI, if I'm being honest, the story is... goofy. But I think you spaced the events out just fine.

PSIV could probably be less condensed, too.

It sure seems a pain in the ass to check through PS2, especially with me having less preference over it than PS1&4...

Have you played PSG:1&2? They sure could give you more introspect into the series, since they had their scripts revised and extended


Also, man, that fan-manga is quite the stuff!!!
It may change my opinion on PS2

Nope. I'm fine with the versions I played. I'm not really interested in the gen2 version other than just to say I've played it. Right now I don't have time for that, anyway.

I do, however, use the Phantasy Star II text games to help me develop the characters of PSII in my writing and provide some more people and places in my stories, too. I don't make a point of noting the parts of my stories that are based on the text games, but they're in there quite a bit.

To me it really sucks having people write off PSII because it's too hard or too old school, or too whatever it is that turns them into whiny bitches. The game has a phenomenal story. Best story of the original four games, hands down.
