I was just wondering if this board still existed, what everyone's been up to, and it's probably been several years since I've even logged in.

When will I do that...

Yesterday, I was walking back home and ran into an old friend of mine I hadn't seen in like... five years. She told me she ran away from her husband with her daughter because the guy is an alcoholic, gambler and a regular wife beater. She tried to endure his shit because she thought she should raise her daughter with a father, but then her daughter mentioned she was scared of her dad hurting her (my friend), she simply grabbed her child, clothes, her money and got the hell out.

She was literally out on the street, but I fortunately managed to contact a few old friends who could spare lodging and an extra work spot for her.

Next comes the hiding phase, followed by legal action. Now to shake a few lawyers/gangsters I became acquaintances with in my times suing people.

It's amazing how people fall and turn into trash. I used to know her husband. He was a good man once, but the news of this is rather shocking. BUT... and there is a but... As I always say, "Go and check BOTH sides of the story". Securing everything in case she is really in need is done. I'll go check if there is something she hasn't told us.

I had a huge laugh a few minutes ago. I was walking back home with my brother who has been feeling sick all day. Something he ate was screwing his stomach. Apparently, an allergy to a spice used when he ate at a restaurant this morning.

We were walking and he was feeling worse. Then, when we were in a nearly empty street, he just stopped, stood there in one place and barfed. I couldn't help laughing. He was standing straight and vomiting towards the front. It all looked so cartoony that I'm still giggling.

He was less than amused by my reaction, but at least his pain is gone.

I had to get up early this morning to get to school on time for PHP class. But it was mostly about AJAX. What's worse is that the teacher made several mistakes and seemed to be from the mindset of the early 2000s. I corrected him every time, but I don't think he actually gives a damn.

Classes about web technology sucking is almost inevitable in today's world. :(

I hated when I went to that kind of class. Not that I knew much about web page coding (only basic html then), but it was the the when we did _all_ examples to work only with IE. Then later teacher may have said that "then if you want it to work with Netscape...".
In those times web page coding was really simple. And i think perl was one of those few that were used to create content on the fly.

Now days it's more standardized, but more complex. More standardized == IE is losing it's share (under 50% now). That's good. Because M$ is bad at standards but their own: http://css3wizardry.com/2010/08/14/ie9- ... 6-of-css3/

I went to check the official Valkyria of the Battlefield 3 site (Valkyria Chronicles 3), and went to the Special section they have. To my surprise and joy, they have THREE interviews with the main voice actors. I already knew who they were, but hearing them using their own voices babbling about their characters, opinions and even short segments with their actual work is quite a sight to behold for me. Out of the three, Yuuichi Nakamura (who voices the main character, Kurt Irving) and Aya Endou (who voices the game's Valkyria) are the most interesting, as they are two of my favorite voice actors from their side of the pond.

One of my internet buddies showed up in ICQ just a moment ago. I greeted her and it looked like she didn't remember who I am. It was a long time since we last chatted. Soon she told me that she wasn't the person I thought she was. This was her cousin. He/she (cousin from now on) told me that this buddy on mine had died. I asked when and how. Cousin replied that last summer she was gang raped and tortured to death. For three whole days they tortured her. Her relatives believe that this was his ex-boyfriend who did this.
Man... World is one sick place. At least in Russia where this happened.
I really can't find more words to tell how I feel. It was a real shock for her relatives.

From Russia with love, goddammit! *yell*

If any observant people have noticed, my signature says 3 platinum. I FINALLY got the Modern Warfare 2 platinum, YES. And guess what? I did the last 2 spec ops solo! Speed runs are really good, run past enough enemies and later ones don't spawn (as much) and I managed to get the gold trophy Star 69, then platinum! My 3rd, Pea may have more than me, but i have more overall and im a higher level :D
