Interesting fact about a certain PSIV enemy

Distortion is not unique to the 2nd form of the Profound Darkness, it can actually first be used by the Dimemsion Worm/Outer Beast enemies in the Air Castle and the Edge respectively.

They only use it if their tech is sealed, and it likely didn’t occur to much people to use it on them.

But, indeed, they have this ability. This means Cancelling is the only ability that can be 100% considered unique to the Profound Darkness.

Pretty interesting that very little people know about this. I was looking through enemy stats through the PSIV editor and I found this out. Obviously, other people likely know about this, but it’s a new to me, especially after I’ve been playing the game for so long.

Normally they use Gra iirc. Which one causes more damage?

Their distortion causes more damage, although it doesn’t do nearly as much damage as the PD2’s distortion.

BTW... isn't cancelling like using Psycho Wand?

It is to a large degree, but it seemingly doesn't strip away resistances granted by equipment like Cancelling. Which, by the way, does happen. I was skeptical myself when I first heard it, but then I tested it, and...

So... the Psycho Wand technically isn’t the only thing that can break through Zio’s barrier

Although if any characters had it, Cancelling would be a pretty useless ability in most battles.

There's one battle where it would really make a difference, and that's Lashiec. You could give the Psycho Wand to Raja to free up an inventory spot (which you can do anyway, but then that battle would be harder)
