Phantasy star generation 1 English translation not working

Hello everyone
Luke the title says, I've downloaded both generation 1 and 2, uncompressed it and played no problem. But when I went on to play generation 1, it won't even allow me to uncompress it, so now I'm curious, has anyone else gotten this problem?
