PS2 endgame grinding

What have you guys found to be the most efficient way to grind as quickly as possible in PS2 endgame?

I just nuke everything with Megid and return to Lutz to be healed after every other battle, which seems more efficient than slogging away with physical attacks/Storm Gear and gratuitous amounts of Gires and Gires items, but I'm not 100% certain.

I usually speed up the framerate of the current Emulator I'm using to play and just go physical until someone is badly wounded, then a resume the normal FPS to time out and mass heal.

Storm Gear can be equipped only by Kain I guess...I just don't use him at all.

Well, there's no need to actually equip the Storm Gear. You can just use it as an item in battle for a Gizan effect, which is much better than having Amy, Shir, or Hugh attack. This allows you to give Shir a Laconian Dagger (only +4 attack, pretty sure it's glitched, but it also gives +22 defense) and the Nei Emel or Truth Sleeves (which can be used for a Gires effect), or Amy a single Fire Staff and a Laconian Emel. Similarly, you can have Hugh equip the Nei Shield or a Laconian Shield.

That's true. I use to do that (using items without equipping them) in other RPG games such as Shining Force, but never remembered to do the same in Phantasy Star.

It's actually a much better idea to do it in Phantasy Star II/IV than Shining Force, because you don't have to worry about anything breaking. You can use it as many times as you want.

The Swift Helm and Power Shield in PS4 are such handy items, as are the Snow Crown, Wind Scarf, and Storm Gear in PS2. Mahlay Dagger (Nafoi) and Mahlay Shield (Deban) are also quite useful, but you get them so late in the game that they don't really help much.
