You can now pre-order G-Collections' latest translated bishoujo game, Figures of Happiness, which comes out on 29 March!
I'm greatly looking forward to it. It's the next 'story-heavy' bishoujo game, the type which I love.
For more information on the game and its content, go right over to G-Collections (warning: adult content!), and click on the "Figures of Happiness" button on the left. :)
"What's a bishoujo game?" click here!

[Edit by Benoit on [TIME]1111956793[/TIME]]

Lemme get this straight...
The aim of these type of games is to impress your girl or whatever, so he/she will be interested in having sex with you, correct?

OH MY GOODNESS... ~0
People from all ages visit these forums, for Pete's sake! I don't know about anyone else, but I think it's inappropiate for you to advertise that here. We should be trying to keep these boards clean, NOT trying to attract dirt...

Yeah... those games seem stupid to me. So gratuitous. In Brave Soul, you get sexual favors for saving women... that just seems a bit seedy to me. I mean, come on... it seems kind of pathetic that some people buy these games, not for the gameplay, but for the gratuitous shots and such. I've never heard of a Bishoujo game that wins out because of gameplay, you know, and that speaks volumes.

[Edit by LaconianShot on [TIME]1111781360[/TIME]]

It's against the rules here, after all.

[Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1111782363[/TIME]]

You people got the wrong end of the stick, just like I feared...

Lemme get this straight...
The aim of these type of games is to impress your girl or whatever, so he/she will be interested in having sex with you, correct?

Some bishoujo games are like that. But it's not necessarily for sex. Most of the time you play a young man who goes to school and meets girls, and is searching for love.

I have a question Benoit, are this PC only games

Yes.

Did you also post Brave soul awhile back? just curious.

A half year ago, yes.

OH MY GOODNESS...
People from all ages visit these forums, for Pete's sake! I don't know about anyone else, but I think it's inappropiate for you to advertise that here. We should be trying to keep these boards clean, NOT trying to attract dirt...

Anything that has sex is dirty? You may want to rethink that opinion...
I did put a warning on the link. The page it links to even puts up another warning.

Yeah... those games seem stupid to me. So gratuitous. In Brave Soul, you get sexual favors for saving women... that just seems a bit seedy to me.

So you believed the crap that HuBBs told us back then? I'm disappointed in you. It's bullshit. Brave Soul is nothing like that.
In Brave Soul you play a young man who has been kicked out from home so he would try to be someone. His little dragon, Shell, accompanies him. After four trials, he becomes a hunter at the Hunter's Guild. From that point on, you can take missions to earn money, which will allow you to buy more powerful equipment. You will meet women on the way, and you can let them accompany you on your quest. At the end of each mission, there will be a choice you have to make. Depending on your choice, the girls' feelings towards you will grow. Like Love Points. Each time you have enough Love Points, you'll trigger an event when you talk to her when staying at the Inn (no, not a sex scene). Your relationship with the girl will grow during these events, and eventually you will fall in love.
It's an action-RPG that resembles Diablo, in a medieval settting.

I mean, come on... it seems kind of pathetic that some people buy these games, not for the gameplay, but for the gratuitous shots and such.

Not all games are sexfests. Most of G-Collections are, though, which is sad.
I'm interested in the games that have an interesting and engrossing story to them, like Figures of Happiness.
There are even bishoujo games that NOT ADULT. Like Princess Maker 2. Great game. ^_^ In it, you receive a daughter from the heavens, and you have to raise her. This implies making her shedule for the month, and such.

I've never heard of a Bishoujo game that wins out because of gameplay, you know, and that speaks volumes.

Of course you haven't, as I can tell by your post how ignorant you are about them. :@ Many bishoujo games are ADVs, but there are also simulations, RPGs, shooters, etc. Most of those other genres have excellent gameplay.
In the West, bishoujo games are still a niche market, so the games we see translated are only a tiny portion of Japan's bishoujo games. And because the genre is so low-profile here, many of the games we get aren't that great. The licenses for good, popular games cost a lot of money, and 99% of the time the companies don't even want to allow their games to be translated.
---
I was hoping that people here would be more mature and wouldn't call out idiocy like "SEX IS EVIL!", which is what most people who cling too much to their (christian) religion do. Like HuBBs.
:@

omg sex is eval lol wtf asl ktnx
I find it funny that som many people get scandalized about sex, but are okay about violence. The games we usually get here in the occident are violence oriented, with no demonstrations of sex, love, not even personal affection. It´s all about beating up people or shooting heads off or hitting people with cars. But sex is teh evil and must be censored. I wonder if there is a rational explanation for that.
They say games influence our society. I´d rather have love games influencing my socienty than violent ones, to be honest.

Violent games are much better to the standard american gamer than games where you Pick up a girl and score high enough to see a XXX scene between them.

I’ve got nothing against Benoit looking at this stuff -- and I have already made that quite clear on my previous post. If he learns a lot about love and sex from it, and gets a kick out of it in the process, then more power to him. Perfectly natural curiousity.
But then you have to consider that, if you make a topic like this on a gaming forum, how will the whole community react to it, when most of them don’t understand or talk about it (like me), and follow the negative generalizations of the bishoujo genre? Wouldn’t it be best to post this in a bishoujo forum, where the community would be far more open and understanding of it, than to the ‘ignorant’ ones of this forum?

[Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1111791612[/TIME]]
