Did you email them before you left feedback to try to work out the problem?
I'm not accusing you, I'm just saying, if you didn't try to work out the problem with them before leaving negative feedback, I can see why they would retaliate.
If, on the other hand, they were aware of your problem and refused to do anything about it, then they are mean &*(^&*%s for retaliating like that.
Also, did you get insurance on the item? It only costs $1.10 usually, but it can help avoid these problems if the problem occurs in shipping.
Personally, I've never had any problems on ebay, but I like to stick to certain sellers. For example, I don't buy anything out of Hong Kong, because often you are buying illegal copies of games and dvds. Actually, that was the only "problem" I've had on ebay. I bought a Godzilla DVD from someone in Hong Kong and wanted to pay with a USPS money order (which they accepted) only to find out that the USPS didn't do money orders to Hong Kong anymore. However, the seller gave me a good rating and let me drop the auction.
So no real problems. Don't let this spoil your entire ebay experience. There are good people out there. Just be cautious.
