Skies of Arcadia Legends

Has anyone played this game, or its predeccessor? I'd like to know your opinion on it, and what your thoughts on a possible sequel may be.
I thought it was a great RPG, I just wish that they took time to edit the graphics a little bit (Not that they're bad, but they CAN edit them since its on a more powerful system right?) and revamp the music, which has annoying stops and skips in it. Other than that, the battles were terrific, I've never felt so swash-buckly after listening to a Boss Ship Battle theme, and the ship and Gigas graphics were just beautiful. The characters were great as well, you have your main hero, your tomboy girl, your damsel in distress, your taciturn old warrior, your slick gunslinger, and last but not least, your weak-hearted-but-has-a-strong-sense-of-justice type of guy. :)
Now a sequel? I think it'd be pretty hard to make a sequel for this game, as the ending left SPOILER!!! SPOILER!!!! your character basically the strongest thign to ever sail the skies. :)
Whats your opinion?

In my opinion, I think Skies of Arcadia Legends is one of the best RPG games I ever played.
What I enjoyed most about the game is that there is so much to do in the game like finding those discoveries, for example, and the game's plot ain't too bad either.
What I didn't like about the game is fighting the ship battles with the Delphinus -- I find them rather easy and they don't provide much of a challenge.
I also think that's it is pretty difficult for Overworks to do a sequel to the game's storyline, because Vyse's adventures have pretty much covered the whole world of Arcadia, and since he killed off the Valuan Empire and destroyed the 6 Gigas, there's really no serious threat that'll destroy the world of Arcadia.

I played the original Skies of Arcadia. The GameCube version has more Discoveries, some extra subquests, the downloadable Dreamcast extras already inserted, bounties, faster battles, lower encounter rate and... dumbed down music because of being compressed. The graphics of the main characters have been touched up a bit, but you can't really notice it.
The Dreamcast original is still the best, at least IMO, since music is very important to me. But the extras of the GameCube version make it a worthy purchase. What I'm trying to say is... your experience isn't complete until you have played both. :)

Skies of Arcadia is definitely one of the best RPGs I've ever played. I played it first on Dreamcast and bought my Gamcube just to play Legends. The only drawback to Legends was the poor sound quality, but I guess if you never play the Dreamcast version, it won't seem like a big deal. I'm glad Legends was made just because it allowed me to experience things I never experienced in the DC version. My advice to anyone with the means to do so is to play the DC version first and then Legends.

I'm not very far in Skies, and I've never played the DC version, but I enjoyed every bit of what I've experienced so far. Seems like a really great game. I'd definitely purchase it, if I could find it.

I don't know where you live, but it seems that SoAL has been reissued, at least here in the US. Stores like Electronics Boutique and Game Stop are still selling it for $49.99 used, but I've seen it elsewhere (like Fry's) for $19.99 brand new! Also, Outpost.com has it for that price.

zoothe: $19.99 for a brand-new copy? Sweet deal! I'm living in Fort McMurray (Alberta, Canada) at the moment, but I'll be moving to a city that's located just 15 minutes away from Edmonton, in less than a week, so the chances of being able to find a copy of it should be a little higher for me then, with any luck.
ThePeaGuy: I suppose I could try that. Of course, I'd need to get a credit card first.

Skies of Arcadia Legends Best has been released, which is a re-release Skies of Arcadia Legends.

I know they re-issued it in Japan and added "Best" to the end of the title, but here in the US there was no talk (that I'm aware of) of a re-issue. So I don't know if it was actually re-issued or if Fry's just found some on closeout somewhere (which they tend to do), either way, it's dirt cheap and there are plenty here.

Take a look at my avator and then decide what I think of it :D
In my opinion, best game I've played, surpassed only by Phantasy Star IV.
When it was originally annouced, there were rumors of a possible connection to the PS universe. Pity nothing came of it.
[Edit by Miles McCloud on [TIME]1090989634[/TIME]]

Since this topic is is about Skies of Arcadia I was wondering if anybody here, who's really good at the game, can help me find a couple of discoveries from SoA: Legends. The two that I'm having trouble finding are the Rolling Stone and the Iron Fish. Can somebody give me some hints on where to find them, please? Pictures of what they look like would be also helpful!
Thanks. :)
P.S: I already know of gamefaqs, so you don't me to infrom me of their existence. I just thought that I might get better info from the SoA fans here, as well as something to talk about. No harm in trying.
