It would be Nintendos decision for a Universal Server, and the developers decision to participate.

Partially true, but there's another side to it. I was reading (EGM, I think) that one of the reasons developers don't go online for GC is because of Nntendo's unwillingness to help them out. Basically, if you want something online for Nintendo, you're on your own. I'm guessing that their unwilling to help because going online opens a doorway to their discs being cracked and burnt.

A game being online or not has nothing to do with game cracks. :/
It's irrelevant.

I still say Nintendo is being lazy about this. It was lucky enough we got PSO.

Many games are ruined by excessive whining, Look at Episode 3 online. Every deck that beats the good people is CHEAP. People DC from you calling you names if you defeat them.. OR even worse

That's how Episode III is online?! That's horrible. I figured that stuff like that would happen, though. That's why I'd rather stay offline. The thing is, it will only get worse. However, there are cases where there are over-powered weapons, in which the developers usually make balances. It comes down to this...why would they put it in the game if it was made to be labelled cheap or "noobish"? It's ridiculous.

Hey, we're not all like this! :@ There are good people too.

I still say Nintendo is being lazy about this. It was lucky enough we got PSO.

They aren't lazy, they just don't see the future in it.

Yep, they're looking towards building a wireless community of their own...

Thats the question I want answered. Why don't they see a future in it. I could believe what Siren said, but I also believed that there would be many online games right now.

The wireless community thing...a third party company is building a wireless adapter for the GBA that allows you to play with others over long distances. It isn't compatable with every game, though. Only certain games will be set up to employ this feature. I'm afraid to get excited, because this is the sort of thing that only comes out in Japan. ~_~

I was afraid of that ~_~
Online gaming on the computer has always (in my opinion) been the best way to do it. But now all the games are getting really good, but also require an online fee, of up to 20 dollars! ~0
One day there will be an inovative idea no one saw coming %)

Yes most online games you do have to pay for(dark age of camelot, Everquest, FFXI, Etc) but if you look hard enough you can always find a disent MMORPG thats free i'll name some if people ask, although i don't know of a hole lot :p
