:( Ok, I've been gathering opinions all morning so I decided I should come here.
Er, firstly though, I apologize to anyone trying to get a hold of me o_o; I've had my AIM on every day but it seems I keep missing a few of you (Working on stuff for Katsucon which I leave Albany for on the 17th. I have to complete four costume). I'm not ignoring you, rofl don't worry. T_T;;;
But onto the matter at hand.
What the hell should I do? I have an opportunity to get one of my ideas published in comic book format (which I've always wanted to do) by a fairly large publisher - BUT - ... This is the worst part. I haven't gone about seeking employment like that for a reason. I am currently unhappy with the way I handle panels and the inconsistency of how I handle the way I draw my characters at the moment. I haven't found a comfortable niche with them, and I am terribly reluctant to do this to them because this story and its characters are very important and sentimentally valued to me -_-.
I'm not sure if I should just go for it or politely decline, or try to pull another story out of my ass to do instead. !@#$
:( Any suggestions would be helpful in some way or another.

Tough spot your in Ultema. It seems your not sure that your happy with your work, and now it has an opportunity...
You want to succeed, but at the cost of your enjoyment. Seems like a tough thing to do.
How much time do you have?

Let's see if I understand this well...
A publisher wants to publish a story of yours, which is what you always wanted.
But how you drew that story's art doesn't satisfy you.
If that's the case, I would politely refuse. No use publishing something you're not comfortable with. It won't make you happy, I think.

Well...quite the predicament. If you go for it now when you're not at your best, are you going to regret it later?

Go for it, Ultema.
Giving yourself a project for your beloved characters is a Blessing in disguise. It will give you a chance to develop them, while you get payed. What could you do better for your characters than develop them? No says you can't change your style as you go.
This job will take you to new places (perhaps not physically, I don't know), and I think you would regret it if you missed out.

I think that you should take the opportunity. Quite simply because it will give you a chance to improve your skills... this could be what you need. Perhaps the pressure will point you in a desirable direction?

Just consider this: remember how comics like Garfield and Calvin & Hobbes started.

Sometimes doing things we do not enjoy, as much as we would like to, must be done. To reach success, lifes obstacles must be trifled with. This is your big start? Perhaps. It may not be what you had hoped for, but perhaps its what you need to reach what you hoped for.
Your art may be private to you, and every person must respect that.

Ah gosh thanks guys.
I have some time to think it all over, and I might just come up with something small to get my feet wet before everything goes down. This publisher is very forgiving and is willing to take their chances, they say.
I'll let y'know what happens when I figure it all out though. I might start looking for ideas around here. :3

Personally, I would go for it, although it is ultimately your decision. It's not like you have to stay completely rigid with your style is it? A change along the way may be acceptible, and at least you are getting paid for it.
Oh Neo... What exactly are we staring at? Or did you mean starring? :p

Staring......the people of PSCave!!

Hahaha! In the comic, Missagh has magical powers, Lord Khyron is an evil ruler in a hover-chair and Benoit is known as Beno-bot, the transforming robot.
