Zelda. By far. You can get a wonderful story and awesome gameplay without feeling cheap for picking up trashy Final Fantasy.

Legend of Zelda, because at least they try to give you a new experience, and you know it's going to be good. You also actually control your character, not using a turn-based system.<br>A good plus is that the last games are linked.

As much as I like certain of the FF series, I will say Legend of Zelda because I have never felt unsatisfied, bored, or downright idiotic for any Zelda game I have played. FF is tinted with cliche's and cheap gameplay, and a LOT of bad ideas.

Zelda, by a long shot. <br>FF's to me are generally boring repetitive pieces of poo, which present little or no challenge. At least in Zelda games you have to actually think.

There's not much new stuff in the later ones, actually.
