I drink because:
- it makes me feel good
- makes me relax
- it tastes so good

The other common "green thing" that some (many) use for relaxation... Yes. I have tested it, but it does not feel good for me and I always fell a sleep (past all the fun). But it really helped me with my back pain. So I prefer that more as medicine.

Green thing?

i'm guessing marijuana. a lot of people do use it as a pain reliever, and prefer it over trying to get prescription medication. (if they are having pain that is too severe for over-the-counter medicines.)

ANYWAY i don't drink often, and it's mostly for social events. drinking alone seems...not very fun.

thanks for the link, i might try to get some for my birthday so me and my nerdy friends can geek out while we're drinking. XD

Isnt taking that illegal?

Advice: Just keep away from all things like that.

Do what's right for you. I smoke pot, but only occasionally. I used to smoke religiously.

I certainly don't endorse weed. If you smoke weed, great. Perhaps we can have a discussion on the different aspects pertaining to marijuana.

If you don't smoke weed, by all means, present your argument on why you don't along with the harmful effects of smoking pot... but if you say something about it that isn't true, I'll set you straight.

I'd put good money on the fact that I know more about it than anyone here. Everything from growing/harvesting to all the different ways you can smoke/eat/drink it as well as it's medicinal benefits and harmful "side-effects".

Yes, smoking weed is harmful to your braincells. This is true for ingesting any form of smoke. Even fruit (yes, people smoke fruit. I haven't).

Alcohol is harmful to your body in more ways than any benefits you can dream up about it. It also has the added luxury of turning otherwise peaceful, good natured people into violent assholes. This seems to be true for me only when I drink beer. Fortunately, I don't drink beer at all anymore.

harmful "side-effects".

Like holes in your brain? Seems pretty harmful. I learned this year the mechnics of many drugs and their effects on the nervous system. Did you know LSD causes hallucinations because the cells in your occipital lobe are dying at such a rapid pace that the brain can't figure out what is going on?

Anyway...side-effects of weed on the physiological level seem to only occur for those that...like you put...smoke it religously.

I personally do not endorse legalization of marijuana, not because of health effects, but because of responsibility issues. Enough people die every year due to drunk driving, the last thing we need is another form of substance abuse on the roads. This is an example of the problem with toxic substances, we lose perception.

Well autistic people are mentally damaged anyway, so I'm not complaining about drinking booze now and then.

No, they are NOT mentally damaged! They're wired differently.

To repeat the already stated: Autism is not brain damage, it's having your wires crossed. Especially perception.

That's a specific case. Autism is not brain damage.

Just look it up yourself...

By the way, knowing a few things about the disorder myself... I think it's pretty f***ed up of you to refer to an autistic person as

What? It's my politically-incorrect view of autistics being handicapped. (You yourself said it was a disorder - how is that any different in context?)

If you been on most autistic-related forums like I have, they pretty much struggle with relationships and holding down jobs. A minority, however, happen to be successful - which I give kudos to. Plus, they hold fucked-up views that they're the next step of humanity - the aspie lot. It's bullshit.

Unless they accept for what they really are and make major accomplishments for themselves (like holding down a job and providing for themselves, for example), they aren't really combating the stigma they endure in their lives - they're too busy whinging over society mistreating 'em.
