I'm pretty sure you already noticed, but the spell names are spelled with more letters and sylables. Here are examples:<p> <b>Shift</b> became <b>ShiftA</b> <p>....I wasn't notified of this.....Nobody asked me if I agreed with it. :p It just happened. <b> Shift</b> became <b> Shifta</b>.<p> <b>Deban</b> became <b>DebanD</b> <br> <b>Tandle</b> became <b>Zonde</b> <br> <b>Wat</b> became <b>Barta</b> <br> <b>Foi</b> became <b>FoiE</b> <p>They're gettin goofy. They're gettin goofy fast. :p<p> <b>Dews</b> became <b>Atomizers</b> <br> <b>Res</b> became <b>ResTA</b> <br> <b>Rever</b> became <b>ReverSER</b> <br> <b>Ryuka</b> became <b>RyukER</b> <br> <b>Gelun</b> became <b>Jellen</b> <br> <b>Doran</b> became <b>Zalure</b> <br> <b>Na</b> became <b>Ra</b> <br>And <b>Cureparal</b> became <b>Antiparalysis</b> <p>I prefer PS4's names over PSO's. yes , the new names don't suit the magic.<br>(I hate to see foi written with a "e": foie)<p>More over, megid doesn't worth the use and neither does grantz. <br>And what are those technique anyway? Whereas before megid was a harsh technique making a lot of damage it turned to be a negatis like technique which never works. Grantz also whereas before it was a hinas like technique (when mieu used it) now it a techique to fight... ?<p>Techniques became weird in PSO...

The names of the Techniques in PSO are actually much more accurate than PSIV's.<p>Also, Megid in PSO DOES do something. It's an instant-kill Technique. But it doesn't always work. It depends on the level of the Technique and the resistance to dark from the opponent.<br>You don't want to be the target of a huge LV 30 Megid Technique!<p>And I'll now quote a post from the PSDB that I saved some time ago.<br> <blockquote>Message:<p>It's confusing for those unfamiliar with Japanese if you don't try to put the katakana into more English looking words. <p>Deban is Deband (Debando) with a "do", not with a "to", by the way.<p>I hope you don't get mad at me for doing the following, Rune Lai! Dunno where the Na- came from. o_O<p>Ryuka, Hinas, Arows, and Seals are really the same as in the English version. They just look funny when written in Japanese.<p>Rever - Reverser! I love it. Reversing their dying status. <p>Yeah that's all. Playing Japanese PSIV hurts my head, and my rom has a glitch in it during the Lassic fight, so I can't go any further. Dammit. </blockquote>

I'll have to agree with Noah the old names do (to me) sound alot better i would gladlly take rever over reverser (hehe i remember when i first got the game and didn't know what the hell rever did untill i started experimenting)and i honostlly think tandle sounds alot better then zonde. along with the other tech's it may be shortened and translated but sounds alot better.

I always thought it was because of the limited amount of characters. Names would be shortened such as swd instead of sword, etc. etc. I guess I was wrong, well I'm mostly used to the PSO ones. Rever sounds weird compared to Reverser

For the record, the word "dew" means, basically, the same as "atomizer". The process of making dew is called atomization. <br>I like Grantz in PSO...it looks really cool! But Megid...eh...it's not as powerful as it was in <b>any</b> of the PS games. I suppose that it makes sense, though, because PSO is, after all, in another universe.

Ahh yes. I guess it would have to be the PSO names. I was introduced first to PSO. Its like the Hildebear. I was first told it was pronounced Hide-el-bear, so I always have called it that. Hide-el-blue, Hide-elt, Hide-el-torr. Heh heh.
