I want to share some sadness

Tonight, my family's rabbit died. He got 10 years old, more than double the average for his kind.
Nevertheless, I've had him for a very long time, and it's hard to see him go.
I don't care if I'm annoying, but please don't tease me. I'm depressed already.
Good bye, old friend.

I'm sorry about your loss, Kex.
I used to have a dog and cat that's been living with my family for over 10 years, then they died on 2003. So, yeah, I do understand how you feel. :(

[Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1110741147[/TIME]]

I understand your loss, my cat was 10 years with me before she died of diabettes and kidney complications.
We don't get over loss, we just learn to carry on.

It is interesting how we can become so close to animals(pets) that don't speak our langauge and that are considered 'lesser' life forms. They are like children in many ways: we care for them from infancy, nurturing them and loving them, teaching them and even disciplining them so that they may know right from wrong (most of the time). No wonder then that we shed tears for animals that have been 'mere pets', because they aren't just that anymore after 5, 10, 20 years - they're companions, friends, and confidantes.
