First game I played? hmm...<p>Well, I remember getting an NES with Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, and The Little Mermaid when I was about 5... so it was one of those three. :p <p>(PS - Duck Hunt still rocks my socks... gotta love the huge, plastic-y, orange gun...)

First Video Game I ever played was.......you guessed it, Phantasy star II When i was 4 years old Thats right i've been a gamer seence birth, my dad warped me into it i was Rudo, he was Rolf, my mom was Anna, and i forget who else he used but ever since then you couldn't get me away form the series :p I remeber playing it while he was at work, and straying him off completely from his objective, then saving it :p He'd come home and say,"dallas were you playing this" *i'd nod* And he'd say" thats my boy" XD god love my dad <p>Second, Dragon warrior, then Rygar, Then i played my first Gradius HAHAHAHHA GAMES AWHOOOOOHOOOO!!! XD

Kid Icarus, holy crap that game was amazing.......later I got bayou Billy (sweet), Contra, mario 2 and 3, and it sorta just expanded from there, ......then came sega........and I kinda just chronologically moved through the systems as they came out........I have every system out more or less....some are ..boxed up and not being used ...i collected a buncha older systems pre-1988 (my birthyear)<p>My first RPG experience would be, watching my uncle play FF1, and laugh every time he lost....then beating the Vampire for him in the earth cave................MY first real RPG (not zelda) was secret of mana for SNES, and FF2 for SNES, and FF Mystic Quest for SNES, i got them all around the same time from my uncle.................also around that time I got Shining Force, and 7th saga. I dont remember the order really<p>//end ramble.<br>

My first games were Super Mario Bros and Dig-Dug for the Atari 2600. There was something funny about PC Dig-Dug, the dummy that programmed it didn't care enough about instructions being executed based on CPU clock cyles, not real-time seconds, and as soon as the next processor came the game ran so fast that it became unplayable. <p>Ok ok... I shouldn't call him a dummy, guess I must be conscious that back then designers didn't have the need to be so "trend conscious" as we are now, they didn't have a new processor knocking at their doors every two months nor the threat of a whole new architechture every 1-2 years.

My first game... It was either Maze Craze or Snoopy and the Red Baron, both for Atari. I don't remember which was first, but I remember playing both very early, like when I was 4 or so. I know it was before I went to school.<p>I remember Snoopy very clearly, though, because it was a very addicting game and it had no ending. I kept playing and playing hoping to beat it, and you couldn't pause it to walk away from it. The point was to shoot down the Red Baron while catching any treats (ice cream bars, popcorn, etc) that fell from his plane as you shot it. At the end of a level, you got points based on how well you did. But you couldn't walk away in between levels, because if you did, the Red Baron would steal the treats back, and you would lose points and the game would freeze. <p>And the marching sound of the Red Baron coming to steal your treats scared the hell out of me. <p>So I was playing for a while and doing really good. I was sitting with my legs folded under me on the floor. When I finally died, I stood up and to turn the game off and fell right back down. I was so entranced I played for three hours and both my legs fell asleep. It was sooo painful! And learning the game had no end really ruined it for me. I never played it much after that.

The first game I played was Alex Kidd in Miracle World for the Sega Master System, when I was six.<p>I had heard about consoles and seen them around that time, and I also wanted one. So me and my dad visited some shops. The final shop we visited, my dad let me try out Alex Kidd while he went away for a bit. When he came back, he asked me if I liked this game. I said yes, and then we bought the system, which had the game built-in.<p>I never could beat the game until about two years ago, thanks to the Internet. The last room of the game was one with five pink blocks on the floor, and you had to figure out the correct order of walking over them. If you screwed up, a ghost would come after you. Most of the time the ghost would suddenly disappear if you kept walking to the left, but not always. I never figured out the riddle on the Moon Stone, so I never found the correct sequence. Thanks to the Internet, I found it, and then finally beat the game.<p>My mom still remembers this game well. I played it a lot, and once the (repetitive, to her) music made her stomach hurt.

My first game is still a classic, and was the start of a great video game franchise.<p>YES! It was...Sonic the Hedgehog!<br>*dodges fruit thrown by Cavers*<p>I was about five, and I picked up the controller and started on Labrynth Zone when my mom went to use the bathroom.<br>First PS game: PS4, in 1999. It was second-hand for twenty bucks, and I was nine. I bought it 'cause the graphics looked cool. And that's how it all started...*enters really long reflection*

About Pokemon:<p>Pokemon came out at the end of the year 1995. Back then it was named Pocket Monsters. It gave the Game Boy a new life, and sold like crazy.<p>Pokemon came out somewhere in 1998 in the US, and also became an instant hit.<p>It came out in Europe in 2001, if I remember correctly.<p>In Japan, the series still is a big success.<br>I don't know about the US, though.<br>In Europe, it has calmed down, and you don't hear a lot about Pokemon anymore here. Thank God!
