I know yalll dislike country, but i love it! I just got back from a rodeo and a joe nichols concert last night which ruled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<p>Anybody else have any cool concerts or events they went to lately

I don't mind country, actually. I wouldn't choose to listen to it, but I really don't mind it.<br>I think it's because most people are under the impression that it's "all just a guy with a guitar and a cowboy hat singing about relationship problems" :p

Concerts are always fun. Live music is so much more interactive. <p>I saw Maroon 5 last month. They put on a good show and did "highway to hell" at the end, which was surprising and really good.

I hate to take the role of cynic, but I have made this somewhat harsh observation. <br>Rodeos: where the drunk and hickish come to get drunker and hickier.

Well, not <i>all</i> folks who love country music and/or rodeos are "hicks". That's like saying people who like rap music are all gangsta. I happen to love Joe Nichols. He sings some very cool Christian oriented songs, and they are rather pretty. I love country music, but I also love all kinds of music, including classical and even some punk.<p>A lot of cowboys are perfect gentlemen, know how to treat a lady, and are <i>totally</i> sexy.<p>So, y'all get a YEEHAW from me!

I went to a rodeo once and it sucked. That´s about it.

Rodeos...<p>I happen to live in the city where the Dodge National Circuit Finals are held and so every year cowboys and cowgirls come from all over the country to see if they can win the big bucks. My house is less then 2 miles from the arena, and during this time my quiet little suburb becomes a cacaphony of sound.<br>I actually went to see the Rodeo finals one year with a friend just to get a little culture enriched; and although I must say that I was impressed how the riders could perform some incredible athletic feats in that uncomfortable-looking garb they wear, I have no desire to ever attend a rodeo again. It wasn't the contestants or the event itself, but rather the crowd and crazy lunatics shouting from the grandstands. Drunkards everywhere in the arena and yet the further out to the parking lot you went to more drunk people became. The cigarette smoke was horrendous everywhere, and even though %90 of the population in Italy smokes this night was an assault to my senses. Needless to say I found difficulty really enjoying myself, but on the *bright* side I experienced a part of America that I never knew existed.

Ugh. I <i>hate</i> cigarette smoke.<p>Malakai, I'm going a bit off topic here, but have you ever been to a sporting event, like a baseball or football game? Sometimes people are just as awful, and get so flippin' <b>drunk</b> and obnoxious. I have never been to a rodeo personally, but I would go for the experience.<p>Personally, I like to go to a horse race sometime, wear a beautiful dress and big hat, and place bets.

%) Right...<p>Never been to a rodeo. But I did go to a concert in Feburary at Pearl Street Nightclub in Northampton, Massachusetts. Got half off on the tickets because one of the members(the bass gitaurist, Harvey Shepard) is my math teacher. It was an awesome concert...giant mosh pit...some guy got his nose broken. The lead singer/gitaurist of the band (Greg Caproni) had me go onstage and sing part of a song with him, and I got the drumstick that Eric Norton (obviously, the drummer) used, which is in my room right now. It was sweet.<p>The other thing I did recently was going to an AHL game. Brutal fight late in the 1st period. Line brawl and then some, seven different fights at once. Trevor Gillies (Hartford) pulled back and unloaded a punch on a Springfield player, and then slammed him facefirst into the boards, giving th player a concussion, and netting Gillies an 8-game suspension, the 5th game of which he will sereve tonight at our playoff game at Lowell (game 4, Hartford leads 2-1).

I have heard that the Utah Jazz games can get downright ugly at times.
