Space is the next frontier to be explored. And we're going to explore. Think of all the things we rely upon in space today: communications from... Japan, detection of potential ballistic missile attacks. Ballistic missiles are still here. Other nations do have ballistic missiles. Dan Quayle is so overdone, so in the spirit of fairness, here are a handful of lines from our last Democratic president, Bill Clinton.
"You know, everybody makes mistakes when they are president." (As opposed to everyone else who isn't president and makes mistakes?)
"It has not worked. No one can say it has worked, so I decided we're either going to do what we said we're going to do with the U.N., or we're going to do something else." (Yeah! They better agree with us, or we're going to do something else!)
"African-Americans watch the same news at night that ordinary Americans do." (Hellooooooo segregation.)
"I am the only President in who knew something about agriculture when I got there." (Oh really? Jimmy Carter wasn't a farmer? How about George Washington or Thomas Jefferson? Heh...)
"You know the one thing that's wrong with this country? Everyone gets a chance to have their fair say." (Darn it, I was so sure the 1st Amendment had that covered.)
"The last time I checked, the Constitution said, 'of the people, by the people and for the people.' That's what the Declaration of Independence says." (Note: that's from the Gettysburg Address.)
There are lots more if you're really interested in doing a search.
Dan Quayle, dumbest person of all time? Not even close. You can find amusing quotes on ANY politician if you look for them. Yes, politicians are supposed to be above the common populace as far as education is concerned, but that still doesn't change the fact that they're human, and they're just as liable to make mistakes and make poor choices like the rest of us.

I have to agree with that, Parn. You made some excellent points.
You think politicians are dumb? Try watching the "Anna Nicole Smith" show. Sure, she's a babe, but I feel like I lose brain cells by just watching her. O_o

Of course, but Mr. Quayle seems to be famous for the most stupid things. No one bothers mentioning stupid statments by politicians without Dan Quayle.
