I can answer that. He made a sheet of all the letters of the alphabet in PS logo version. Then, he takes the letters out though copy and paste and make the word/name desired.

I take a screenshot of the PS1 title screen, paste the screenshot in MS Paint, Duplicate the letters of the logo, butcher the duplicate letters, edit anything that doesn't look right, and there you go.
