Breath of Fire

Is anybody here on this message board fans of Capcom's RPG series? If you are, which game out of the series is your favourite, and what is your favourite BOF character?<p>My favourites are BOF1 and 4. My least favourite is 3. I have yet to play BOF 2.<p>My favourite character from the Breath of Fire series is Scias the samurai dog from BOF4; he don't speak much, but he's got some cool moves!<p><p>[size=small][Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1079053176[/TIME]][/size]

I played ony the first one, got stuck in the very beginning of the game. No need to ask if I tried again.

I have played tehm all but I haven't beat any of them. <p>But I can say that I prefer the second one over the others.

I just played the first one, and I can say it's not a bad game, it's just that I couldn't get involved with it, there was something that I really disliked, maybe the battle system.<p>I can't say about the other three episodes, since, after the first, I was not motivated to play the others, but maybe I'm wrong and it's just the first...

I liked BoF IV. The second installment was pretty nice, too, once it got going (could care less for the beginning), and the battle music for the first was rather catchy. I've never played the third, so I really can't say anything about that one (I tried to rent it out from my local video rental store one day only to find the disk scratched up so much that it couldn't be read).

I would have to say BOF is one of my favorite rpg's i've only ever played the first one but i saw the 3. I beat BOF 1 and the last boss wigged me out a little the first time i saw it.(pretty scary when a little girl turns into a giant snake thing with like 12 snake legs and something that looks like an alien from the Alien seirs for an upperbody).

Haven't really played BoF since 1 & 2 (2 was a cool one). 3 Really dissappointed me. Haven't played 4 but have been told it's fun. <br> As for Capcom RPGs, my favourite series so far is Eldorado Gate for DC (7 Disks!!). The artwork for the characters and monsters was done by Amano (the old FF artist).

May I ask if it was released on the Western shores or is a Japanese-only game?

Unfortunately, it never made it here. The scarey thing was Capcom was originally planning to make it longer but they stopped when Sega announced the DC would be shelved. (it was originally going to be 15!!)

Hah! I must be totally lame because I *really* liked BoFIII. It was the first BoF game I ever played, and I played it after being disappointed by the newer style RPGs being released then. I liked that it followed the classic RPG formula yet added some new, cool things that I hadn't yet experienced in a RPG. I also was fond of the depth at which the story went.<p>I was equally as pleased with BoFIV, as it seemed to be in the same league as part 3. With two great games re-enforcing my faith in modern RPGs, I picked up Dragon Quarter as my first PS2 RPG and all I can say is: the dream is dead. Horrible, horrible game! Who wants to play a game where you have to keep dying and repeating things over and over to progress the story? It just killed it for me.

Does anyone have any thoughts/comments on the GBA releases of BoF I&II? I didn't even know they existed until recently. Are they worth getting (as a fan of the series)?

They're straight ports of the SNES versions. Not worth getting if you already own/played the originals.

Played 1 and 2. <p>I didn't liked 1, but I beated it anyways. It's... decent, I guess. IMO, of course.<p>2 is MUCH better. Definately worth playing.

I 've played bof 1,2,3,4 and 5 And my favorites is the 1 2 and 3,the 4 and 5 lose the clasical spirit of the old rpg school.and i've no completed those 2...i'm a big fan of bof series,and specially BOF 3 i love that game :p

Score!! I found the Prima Guide for BoF4 for $26 including a copy of the game itself. Considering the guide alone is rare enough to warrant an $80+ price tag, I think I did fairly well.
