Is this movie really good? Because Spielberg has the awful habit of ruining great stories by including heroic kids or good hearted vilains that always save the main character in the end. Which sucks big ass.

I think it's best to see it in the theatre. They should have a much better sound system, and make it a little more believable. Unless you have a kick ass 4 grand home theatre system at home, see it in the movies.<br>Some of the sound effects alone are enough to make you jump or drain the blood from your face.<br>But that's all up to you before you go into the theatre, if you're thinking, "This is going to be great!", it will. If you go in thinking, "This is gonna suck.", it's gonna suck. It's all up to you.

Its a good movie because the humans keep losing, there is no hero. This movie displays tragedy and the loss of hope, through the entire thing.<p>Finally a movie where the good guys can't win!

WotW sucked. The movie would've been better if that screaming A$$ kid died. That would make her shut up at least... Robbie and the mother should be dead too! Aww, Sucks sucks SUCKS! ~_~

I would just like to say this whole post is a spoiler, but it doesn't matter, since every other post was a spoiler, but I thought I just might warn you.<p>I actually liked Robbie in the movie, I'm not a Tom Cruise fan, so, I was really hoping he would die, I also hated the kid too, but I would actually care if she died, I laughed my @$$ off, when that weird guy that kept on frieking out, trying to kill the aliens, died. I was happy that Robbie ended up living, I mean c'mon, he wanted to kick some alien ass, you can't blame him., so mainly, this is how I was hoping it to be,<p>Dad:dies<br>Girl: don't care, maybe live<br>Robbie: he better live!<br>Anyone Else:don't care, mainly I hope they die, so it's like the original, even though I can't remember what the original was like, since I saw it, when I was like... 3, so yeah... but I wanted pretty much everyone dead, except for Japan, because we Japanese kick ass!

This is interesting to find that you lot like the movie. I didn't care for it, since it wasn't really entertaining to watch as a movie. The book was all right, since it portrays a rather unique perspective of how it might be if we really were up against the wall without a fighting chance.
