What about those of us with multiple IP addresses (mine tend to shift a lot due to the fact that I post a lot from public access comps)...?

I got mine to work, but everytime I log onto the gamesNET server and input my password, it says 'Password Incorrect' yet I am still able to use my Nickname. Odd, but it still works.
Feh. I actually don't like IRC much. Anyone could be listening to what you're discussing. It's still nice to be able to chat with PS Cavers, though.
Great job, Missagh.

[Edit by LaconianShot on [TIME]1092242045[/TIME]]

Anyone? That's not true. If they are not in the channel, they can't hear/read it. It's just like any other chatroom.

Mirc harmless? Hahaha
Apparently none of you were there in the early days where Nukebots were the norm..
While IRC is useful to chat, the risks sometimes outweigh the benefits.
If you're intelligent, You won't ever have bad problems with it, If you're not, you will..
P.S. I remember the story of a promising emulator back in 2001 that was stopped because the programmer got in a IRC room and someone in the room ended up nuking him offline and the hacker did something to where he had to reformat his PC. Lost EVERYTHING he had done on the emu then decided to QUIT. It was a promising DC emulator, But morons ruined it.

I use mIRC since 2000. I was a regular in 2 channels in 2 big servers, and never, never has any problem with all those things you people described above. Honestly, 1 harmed person in a billion of visitors doesn´t make IRC insecure.
It´s like fearing to go outside while it´s raining because you are afraid to get hit by lightning.

I know what I am talking about when I reference to the early days. It turned me off of IRC all together.
But if I had enough fans, I might regive it a shot..
I've lost all my antinuke/antistuff bots too LOL
