Will we EVER see Ps4 remade?

Postby Anza » Thu Sep 06, 2007 7:37 pm

Everyone should hopefully know about the Sega Ages remakes of PS 1 and 2 which have been around since before this board completely died around 2 years ago and I've waited... and waited... and waited... and even played PSU and still I HAVE YET TO EVEN SEE AN ANNOUNCEMENT OR A SCREEN SHOT OF THE PS4 REMAKE AND IT'S ABOUT TIME I FINALLY RANTED ABOUT IT!!!

the trilogy was canceled in the states, 1 and 2 are most likely never coming out officially outside of Japan and honestly that's fine, I don't mind playing them or PS4 in Japanese (despite not knowing the language) however I do have to say one thing, I WANT THE REMAKE ALREADY O_O

Has anyone HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT THE GAME? announcements, cancellations, ANYTHING AT ALL!?

I haven't heard anything. The only Phantasy Star-related release that Sega Ages has planned at the moment is a compilation of the four original games...

Yeah, and what a cop-out that was! All of the sudden the Sega Ages series went from actual remakes to ports!

I still have hope that PS4 will see a remake, but I'm not counting on it like I was however many years ago now.

PS: Good to see the board back up. I figured it for dead.

As resident expert on the remakes, I declare PSIV to be dead :P

My thoughts are that when Sega took over the "3D Ages" label fully, starting with Volume 16, they simply wrapped the games in progess and then started cranking out ports. So...any chance of PSIV is dead and buried by now (which is roughly the 4th anniversary of the PSI remake, "Phantasy Star Generation: 1).

Speaking of which, I still need to resurrect Nei...

You can resurrect Nei on the Second Generation?

Would've been nice if there was a remake of the true third game of the series (discluding PSIII). Stupid Sega and their need to be all mainstream. Look what they've done with the Shining games.

Yes you can but you need to have clear data from Generation 1 and some other requirements that I don't remember because I only did it once.

Either way, there's no chance that I'll be playing it. I had a hard time trying to figure out what was what in Langrisser IV.

I'll probably be well versed in Japanese by the time I'm 30 or summat.

As what some have already mentioned I think that Sega lost most of the data of Phantasy Star IV and couldn't do a remake of the game. Then again does it really need to be remade? The original is still one of the best games I've played

I gotta agree with this. In my opinion, the game was great as it was. Nothing comes to mind for anything that needed a makeover, while if you look at PSI-III there's many things that could use work.

Yeah I don't understand why Phantasy Star III still haven't got a remake. It was the first I played in the series so I still enjoy it just as much as the other games in the series, but I can understand if some don't want to call it a "real" Phantasy Star game... Why did they for example have to make all 4 third generations almost identical?

But I remember that someone made a fanremake of the game with the RPGMaker program, at least it's something...

Well, i'm quite optimistic. Sega Ages wikipedia page says PS I-II-III-IV remake will be out soon (in autumn 2007).
