Great, a phanta fan uploaded PS remake video on youtube.
I think that those who wish to have a better idea of the game could be pleased so here are the links.

nekomimi84

He is the one uploading all of it for example:

Hapsby + Luveno

Dr Mad

Thanks for the link! I had a look at the PS:Gen1 Party meeting Noah video and learned two random new things already:

1.
Noah's full name is ミゼリス・ルツ・イーサ・ラナイ
or Mizerisu Rutsu Iisa Ranai ! But they're to call him Rutsu (Lutz).

2.
Myau is male.

I like the music remix in dungeons.

Edit: oops, I take back number 2. Think I got confused. XP

If you read the Compendium, you would already know Lutz' full name. ;)

I've always considered Myau from PSI to be a male, I don't know why, I can't see him as a female.

Image
See? he would have been an ugly female cat. He has a strong jaw and is a bit chubby, plus he has that kind of rebelious hair on the chest which develop when he grows up like for simba. hehehe.

Aaaah, that appart, I wish I could play those games on nintendo DS, the remakes would just suit the format.
However, from what I see, I think they might have stressed too much on the dialogues to personalise the characters which is not a bad thing in itself but...
They lose a hero aspect and become much more of teenagers making their adventure less credible in a way...

You know, something like "Hey Tyron, maybe if you were as focused on your battles as on your Ipod, you wouldn't have been changed in stone you know..."

Well that's only my opinion anyway.

wow i thought it was just me, yeah... it seems they were trying to hard. Hard to explain but any veteran PS1 original player might know what I'm talking about.

When I first played PSI on the GBA Phantasy Star Collection, I absolutely loved the simplicity of the music. But with this orchestrated mess, it's just too harsh on the original tunes. :(

I am the person who uploaded the videos :) They are now all up, including Lassic and Dark Falz battles, plus the ending. I have put them in to a playlist here.

In the future I plan to add some videos experimenting with crystal combos, but otherwise, it's finished. Next up is Generation 2.

Thanks Angela for those vids,

By the way, are those all the cutscenes or were there others, new to the serie?
Plus what were your impressions while playing the games?

Anyway, I'm glad you posted those video, I'm on my way to watch the new ones. ;)

i must say despite PS1 remake being really nice there are some things that i just don't like about it.

Walking speeds is insanely fast. It makes it unrealistic. From the way the video looks, you could probably walk from one end of the map to the other in a flat minute  Also why is it dark force only attacks once. In the original PS1 he attacked twice. In addition one of the spells in the remake just seems to powerful. That lightning spell that everyone gets to do does massive dmg + it paralyzes the monsters from an extremely long time. When the effect finally wears off you can just cast it again for an additional 500 points of dmg plus paralyze again. EW! And how many times does this game allow the player to run away!!!! wow!!! I don't remember the original PS being no where near like that. The overall of the game looks nice but it looks the difficulty was nerfed a bit from the original PS. :?

Yep Edless, that's all the cutscenes. However, a lot of extra development to the characters and storyline also happens by using the 'conversation' command.

To be honest, I quite enjoyed the remake. The difficulty has indeed been nerfed in some respects. However whilst walking speed is much faster, encounter rates on the world maps have been made higher to make up for it.

Yeah, the new crystal combos are way too powerful. However, at least one of the two crystals needed to cast Thunderstorm (the paralyze attack) usually breaks after one use. One of the crystals alone cost around 7,700 meseta (off the top of my head), so you usually wont have the meseta, until near the end of the game, to use them.

The success of the run command seems to be based on the level of the characters. By the time I was going through the last dungeon, all of my characters were at level 60. If I was three or four levels lower, I wouldn't have had as much luck ;) Enemies that are considered too powerful for your level have their names in red, and it is usually these enemies which can be difficult to run from.

You still need to level grind, particularly when you're on Dezoris. Some of the dragons near the end of the game are also incredibly tough; the Black Dragon can almost wipe a fully-healed party in one hit. In fact, the dragons were much tougher than Dark Falz and Lassic.

Status effects such as poison can kill you very easily; the damage inflicted by poison is based on the damage the initial attack hits you with. It's quite common later on in the game for it to hit you for 50 points per round, so you have to cure status ailments very quickly.

Alis' Fly spell has been changed to Teleport, and now acts like PSIV's Ryuka; you can teleport to any city on the planet, as long as you have visited it. Otherwise, Alis only gets the first tier of Fire and Heal spells, so she is best used as a physical attacker.

I liked the extra characterization. Alis acted like a 15 year-old; a bit naive, fun-loving, and very determined. They also changed it so Nero died when she was a kid, and she didn't leave for her journey until she was older. You could see the bond between Odin and Myau (they're both jokesters, but also have a fighting spirit and a huge sense of pride and loyalty). Noah didn't soften up to the party straight away, and is generally seen sighing at the others or saying nothing after he joins. He slowly opens up to the party throughout the journey.

I also liked it how they made the walls of the Dark Falz dungeon look similar to the Garubek Tower in PSIV! It was also fun how if you picked for Alis not to become Queen, you can actually continue playing, essentially continuing Alis' journey (even though there isn't much else to do).

This is just stuff off the top of my head... if there's anything specific people want to know, just ask :)
