Before you start flirting with her again, recap at what went wrong from two years ago.

So do ones outside your family. What's your point?

Omg, my child has Down's because I fucked my long lost sister!

Some people seem to be forgetting that a couple can have sex and not produce offspring. ;) I mentioned contraceptives and the vasectomy, but also, there's the female equivalent of the vasectomy called getting their tubes tied, and anyway, an infertile couple or a couple of the same sex wouldn't even have need of these things (provided they only "do it" with each other during the relationship, of course). Also, there are other kinds of sex than just the kind that can lead to offspring.

Where did I say that?

You have a point there. But on the other hand, producing offspring is the whole point of sex!
Where did I say that?

Right here:
As for incest, I see nothing wrong with it as the reproductive issues can be prevented by the couple doing what any other couple would do to prevent unwanted pregnancies

That wasn't a flirt Pea. What happened years ago was a direct result of someone wanting to play people off against each other. Anyways, it is in the past.

But you seem to like to bring it up o.o

It was a joke to her. She is the farthest down my list to flirt with. I'd have to be paid to do it.

Ah, I see where you're coming from now. Thanks.

Reproduction is one point of having sex, enjoyment is another. It's also a job for some people (see: porn stars and prostitutes), and a way for some people to express their love for each other (which is where the term "making love" came from, I presume). There may be more, but these are all I can think of off the top of my head.

So are you saying that because it's apparently unnatural, it's a bad thing -- as in something that should not be allowed, and anyone who does it should be punished and be ashamed of themselves? Who says seeking pleasure isn't natural, anyway? I've heard of animals in the wild being observed getting it on for the pleasure of it. Dolphins and bonobos come to mind.

But anyways, let's say two consenting adults have sex in the privacy their own bedroom. They happen to be brother and sister, which wasn't their choice, and it also wasn't their choice to have the hots for each other, but let's say they use a condom, or the guy had a vasectomy, or whatever. What's the issue there? Why should they be punished and be ashamed of themselves, or have to choose not to do it in the first place thus depriving themselves of the pleasure and lovemaking that they long for? Who's business is it other than their own? I just don't understand.

All I'm saying is that the only point is to have offspring. I didn't say that other things would be wrong.

Now, brother and sister, that's just plain wrong. I reason that since their offspring would very likely be unhealthy, they aren't meant to have sex. Protection be damned. There's a reason why people naturally feel disgust towards this situation.

If they know they are brother and sister, they likely wouldn't have real feelings for each other. They wouldn't be in love, they would be in love with the feeling of being in love.

But it's not. Maybe it is from nature's point of view, but that's just one point of view out of a few which I have already pointed out.

Yeah, I know there's a reason why most people are predisposed against it, but that doesn't mean some people cannot or should not be into it. If you're not into incest, you don't have to get it on with your family. But it's not your place to stop others from getting it on with theirs.

If they know they are brother and sister, they likely wouldn't have real feelings for each other. They wouldn't be in love, they would be in love with the feeling of being in love.

How do you know that? If they can be sexually attracted to each other, why can't they be in love with each other too?

That's actually exactly what I was saying.

Sexual attraction and love are two very different things.

Okay, there seems to be some confusion here, possibly due to lack of clarity on my part. You're saying incest isn't what nature intended, or whatever, whereas I was speaking from a position of, "Who's it hurting? What's the big deal? Why is there a law against it?" I want to call it humanism or humanitarianism, but dictionaries would seem to tell me that's not quite necessarily accurate.

But yeah, I just think it's stupid that a consenting couple can be punished by law for getting it on in the privacy of their own bedroom, while using protection... just because they happen to be family. I think it's stupid that a friend would smack me upside the head (only half-playfully) for suggesting that I consider a certain distant cousin of mine whom I hadn't seen in nearly two decades easy on eyes. I think it's tragic that any incestuous couple like in the example I gave would be ashamed of their feelings for each other. I mean, come on, what is that? Is it hurting anybody, or in any other way infringing upon anyone's rights? I think not, so there's just no need for people to be getting all bent out of shape over it and having a law against it, etc. etc. Whoever finds it icky or whatever can feel free to choose not to shag their family, I guess, huh? I'd never suggest that they do.

So that's where I stand on the topic of incest.

There's a law against it because it is commonly accepted that it is not acceptable. I already explained why. Consider also that the possible result of sex is always offspring, which we have determined in this case will not be healthy. Yes, you can use protection, but what if it fails? What if she forgot to take the pill? These are possibilities that can't be denied. And then what? Abortion? Good luck on getting that in countries like the US, where many consider it murder, or plain against the law. Not to mention that it can be psychologically scarring to have to give up a baby.

Sure, it's not directly hurting anyone... except maybe our standards.

I have to seriously ask where you draw the line. Would you think that it's okay for a son to have sex with his mother? Or a daughter with her father? If no, why is it okay for siblings to have sex? They're also of the same blood, and from the same parents.

I agree it's stupid. ZOMG thought crime!

Actually, Benoit... Abortions are done here in the states. Even teenage girls can have it done with parental consent. Even if many feel that it is murder, others simply don't care since they do not wish to take ressonsibility for their actions (of course, if the said woman was raped, that'd be totally different, but I still do not agree with it).

Lord Khyron believes in Abortion in only 3 cases..

1) RAPE
2) INCESTUAL (Rape included. Father/daughter)
3) Major deformity that will make the child have a poor quality of life.

On the 1st.. I get pissed at the religions who put the mother who was raped on a GUILT trip. A guilt trip just to think they are good christians/whatever. A guilt trip to make her believe that "The baby" from a RAPE is a "ACT OF GOD" and thus cannot be stamped out. God willed the life of a rape child into existence.

The child of a rape is a constant reminder of what happened to the mother. The mother can see the child and remember IT wasn't wanted. Many of these children grow up abused, neglected and hated. The mother always having a constant reminder. A constant reminder to her church as well.

The victim should not be punished in that way. She shouldn't have to live the rest of her life with a reminder. A baby born of rape is not a act of god. If it was, then god condones rape and loves it.

That goes hand in hand with the second. A girl molested by her daddy shouldn't have his child and a constant reminder of what her father did.

YOU DON"T punish the god damn victim! Seriously o.o Christians need to take their morals and apply them to themselves to be "good christians." Pointing and judgeing others and forcing others to FOLLOW your beliefs is ridiculous!

Yeah, I also agree with what Khyron-dono and BenoitRen wrote. Children a with genetic disorder(s) or which were made through rape should be aborted. It's wrong for them to be aborted if let's say, two couples were doing it and they made a child by accident because one forgot to wear protection or whatever. That's a natural and healthy child that should not be killed. I also don't like when people force their religion onto others. Some believe in other religions and some don't believe in any and only believe in science (like me). Incest also seems wrong to me, not only because the people are related, but also because their children will have defects. This has an overall negative impact on families and other people as well.

I also believe that sex was meant to have children, not to pleasure yourself. The pleasure is there so that it incourages you to have children. Imagine if sex would hurt (well I heard that it does the first time but that's besides the point), there would not be a lot less children born. The pleasure is what attracts you to have children and it's as nature intended. I also heard that there are various forms of cancer that can form if people do not have any children. Some of these cancers are prostate and breast cancer. Children should also be breast feeded until the age of three or four (as I heard). This ensures that the child is healthy and that the woman does not get breast cancer. Same goes for everything else that involves making a child and caring for it. That's my opinion of how it is based on what I've read.
