Now, on to the strory...
I'm Orakio Rob, a Brazilian Phantasy Star fan. I've been running the website "A Gazeta de Algol" (www.gazetadealgol.com.br) for about seven years. As many of you, I've always wanted to grab a copy of the Compendium, but it was quite hard to find. The worst part is that the few people I know who own the book are scared to scan it, fearing that the book would be ruined in the proccess.
Well, I've managed to find the Compendium for sale at the Japanese Amazon. So, me and a few (9) friends from the Brazilian Phantasy Star community decided to buy it. Each of us payed US$ 10. I've bought the book with my credit card and took the pages off (yes, I've basically destroyed the book) in order to scan it properly.
Now, one of us lucky guys will own what's left of the book (based on the next lottery result). But we are really in it because of the PDF. All of the guys who took part in it did it so we could make the PDF and make it available to all PS fans. So, consider it a gift from the Brazilian Phantasy Star community. Enjoy it!
If you want to make the Compendium available at your website, I would really appreciate if you could add a note such as "This book was scanned by Orakio Rob, from a Gazeta de Algol (www.gazetadealgol.com.br) and his friends from the Brazilian Phantasy Star community." I was the one who came up with the idea, but we had a few problems along the way (Amazon jp wouldn't ship outside Japan, so one of the participants had a friend in Japan, who got the book and then sent it to me), so it really wouldn't be possible without the help and encouragement from the guys from the Brazilian community.
The PDF is about 50MB in size. I plan on uploading a package with the hi-res images so everyboy can play Dr. Frankenstein with the book. Hope you like it!
