Phantasy Star III - Help topic

Postby Zucca » Thu Nov 06, 2008 10:23 pm

I'm playing PSIII. I'm on Nial's quest. I've just got Ryan (looks awful lot like seth with sunglasses... I find those sunglasses kinda hilarious) and Sub parts for Wren. I had to look from walktrough where to go. Maybe I missed something that was on the dialogs.
Anyway my question is that the passageway Aridia <--> Elysium is one of those that cannot never be accessed? In any generation?

Yup, it can't be accessed at all. It's not the only one.

I just got Laya's Pendant and people in the town tell me to go east... I've only played Ayn's quest before and again I'm stuck. There's nothing in east. :o This has been common problem in PSIII. ;( At least I get stuck in many places.
Can someone give me a hint? I don't wanna spoil myself, because I've never played Nial's quest.

EDIT: Ah. solved. It was as hidden passage inside the town. I remember having problems to find that place sometime before...
Why the heck it must be hidden?

PSIII can be...frustrating at times. It's one of those games where you have to explore everything, and talk to everyone to get to where you need to go. A far cry from today's RPGs that's for sure!

As for Nial's quest, that one always frustrated me because I was so used to playing through as Ayn and then Sean or Crys.

I personally like when you have to do some investigating of your own to proceed.
But PSIII has these hidden passages that you _must_ find to proceed. I remember fist time I played I got stuck in Rhys's quest where you need to find the passage to Aridia. That one just in the middle if the ruined towns.

The first time I found the passage, I thought it was a glitch.

Well at least you get some exp while you try to find passage to the next place. :P

For example it helps VERY MUCH to buy Planar Claws for Mieu in the first generation. :D

You mean you bought the Planar Claws?! That's some serious grinding (to be able to buy them).

Yes. :D
I did some investigating and came to a clonclusion that best place to get mesetas in 1st gen is in weather control system's 2nd floor.
But I admit that I used emulator this time. But when I first played PSIII (using no emulator), I gathered 40k mesetas to get Royal Needlers for Rhys. To get money for those needlers I first bought second best needlers for Rhys and Ceram Needlers for Lena.
Then loads of antidotes and some grinding. I have to say that getting those Needlers isn't that hard. I remember that I needed to fill Mieu's TP at Techna only 3-4 times to get that money.

But grinding money for Planar Claws isn't that realistic. You need aprox. 70k mesetas for those claws (assuming you sell Mieu's previous claws first). At least in that point of game getting those Royal Needlers is much more important than Planar Claws. With Royal Needlers you can kill every enemy in a battle just with Rhys.
I think that Royal Needlers are underpriced. It's just too easy to collect 40k mesetas for such great weapons at that point of game. :)

Oh. BTW what's the most logical ending in PSIII? The one that fits best with other PS games?

Some would say Aron's, but it's all up to one's opinion at the end of the day.

Well, Adan, Crys, and Aron's endings provide a tie-in for PSII's ending. Aron's is the only one that is concrete in the connection, however. So, some people prefer to use that as the proper ending because it can explain so much.

Sean's, which is probably the most unique ending, functions perfectly well as part of PS continuity.

Safe?

Postby Zucca » Thu Nov 13, 2008 10:52 am

Is it safe to skip back to Dahlia (with use of escapipe) in the beginning of Adan's quest?
I think it's quite neat trick to get full party at the very beginning of the quest...
