Phantasy Star Doujinshis FTW!

Postby orakio_rob » Wed Sep 29, 2010 7:09 pm

A few weeks ago, I came across this auction:

These are doujinshis, that is, mangas created by fans. I usually only buy official stuff, but the art looked good and I was interested. A good friend of mine (Yoz, who every now and then helps me buying some of this stuff) said he wanted it, and so I asked a Japanese friend to buy the books.

The good thing is that Yoz really is a nice guy, so he said I could actually scan these books! And he even said I could destroy the bindings in order to get good scans! The package has just arrived!

Man, one of the books is pretty thick! Take a look at this:

See that big one? It has 300 pages!

There is art for PSI, II, III and IV. I can't wait to get these beauties scanned so I can share with you all... stay tuned. And thanks for your help, Yoz!

Indeed, I'm thrilled to see what the Japanese fans have created over the years!

You don't ask for much, do you... :P

But yeah, I'd definitely be interested in that as well. Translation work tends to take a lot of time and effort, though. Maybe we should see if we can shake together some money for the poor bastard who takes on that kind of job.

From what I can see there, the art does look very nice and completely worth putting alongside official publications. I am curious if the stories are decent, too.

I'll certainly be sending you a donation as soon as some of the money the Army owes me comes in, which should be any time now. I mean it. You deserve it.

I know most of you don't speak Portuguese, but the download links can be easily spoted at the end of the post. Bear in mind that I'm uploading the hi-res jpg files right now, it may take a while. By hi-res I mean big JPG files, so it's not reeeeally hi-res, but it's pretty good anyway.

Google Translate does a very decent job on your site; I visit it frequently and don't know the first thing about Portuguese.

Thanks! Can't wait to look through these!

The (or "a" rather) story of how Elsydeon came to be! Cool.

Number seven!

This one is focused on PSIII. It's pretty violent and sinister.
