Valkyria 3. It's excellent. So far, it plays just like Valkyria 2, but I know there are extra improvements that come a bit later in the game. The three lead characters are also MUCH, MUCH better than 2's. Kurt Irving (No.7) is a rising new officer once lauded as a genius, accused of treason and sent to the Nameless squad. Riela Marcellis is a traumatized woman with no idea what happens to her and Imca is a darcsen with a thirst for revenge. That, and she packs the most badass rocket launcher/cannon/sword ever. She seems to also have a violent streak.

Another improvement is that now each character's model is completely different from the others. They are no longer head swaps with the same bodies. This helps make each character easy to recognize and visually varied.

Also, Aya Endou is Riela's voice, which is a HUGE plus. She has a weird combination in her voice, which can be both cute and sexy... An odd one indeed.

I just hit the part where the gameplay differences between Valkyria 2 and 3 begin. The maps are larger in this one, which lets me use snipers more effectively. Also, the class change is now easy to do and doesn't require amassing points to do so. To unlock the sniper class, all I had to do was buy the unlock from a character that sells weapons and then I could change a soldier I wasn't using into a sniper.

The customization is basically the same as in the last game, only this time modifying character abilities comes in an easier form, allowing for complicated strategies early on.

No single character has been annoying, and that's really something, unlike 2's three leads...

My roomate bought the Metal Slug Anthology for the Wii. There has been swearing, frustration, and tons of laughing. These arcade classics are awesome. We've completed 1-4. 5 and 6 will probably be done this weekend.

2 more trophies for heavy rain, but as you would expect they are the hardest, and most time consuming. Both golds

I'm too lazy to collect trophies. I just have those that come from normal gameplay, unless it's one I think I would enjoy unlocking...

The only examples are those from Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, where you get a trophy for killing 1000 enemies with Ayane, Momiji and Rachel. But other than those, I haven't unlocked process specific trophies.

In fact, I think I'll play exactly that game... Too much Valkyria 3 left me having a dream about it... And that's not good...

After going out and speding some time in nature (as natural as it can get in the city), I went back to Valkyria 3... I did four missions, one of which was a boss fight. Definitely, this one goes closer to the PS3 Valkyria 1. I had to fight against a giant tank, while defending myself from the Calamity Raven special forces (main antagonists). In three of the missions, the three main characters of Valkyria 2 tagged along. It was odd, since they are younger than in their game, but they were actually fun to have in the team as guests. So far, this game is better in all aspects than the last. Even Imca, who is a teenager, acts mature, without going into the smartass territory. One of the interesting things is that the main character, Kurt, is the inspiration for the three kids of Valkyria 2. I just hope he doesn't die in the end.

He also has his fun quirks, but doesn't stay as a stereotype, despite how serious he always is.

So far, the heroes of each game are:
Welkin the geek
Avan the 'tard
Kurt the stiff

I ripped my face off the PSP in order to do some work... But when I'm done, I'm going to put this old game in the PS2:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAZfp-g0kwU&NR=1

This is DEFINITELY one of the very BEST games I have played on that system and also one of the best games I have enjoyed in my life.

It's not too terribly complicated, but the variety in mechs and the sheer fun in two player cooperative mode is still unsurpassed. You can choose Mobile Suits that go for close quarters combat, projectile attacks or even speedy movement.

Also, there are even joke MSs, like that dancing pink Zaku (impossible to mistake in the video) and a grunt unit that looks too much like Link to stop the laughs from erupting.

I rarely try to unlock everything in games. This is one of the very few that have kept my interest and encouraged me to do so.

I've just finished Anne's Adventure. Yes, the Phantasy Star II text adventure. I even drew a map for it! :D The game is short, but okay, and shows Anna's motivation for joining Rolf's party.

Macross Triangle Frontier.

This game is not a sequel to the other two PSP games. It's an update. Think Phantasy Star Online and Phantasy Star Online Eps 1 & 2.

Still, this is one major upgrade. This time all of the animated Macross series and movies are covered in full. New play modes in the campaign mode, new mecha and what nobody expected... An actual (and odd) story mode that follows the Macross Frontier TV series.

That was the mode that interested me the least when reading about it, but after giving it a go, it's where most of my time playing the game has gone. I have to say that creating a character and raise him/her, building relationships with other characters and the possibility of importing the finished character to the campaign mode is awesome on many levels. I'll start fiddling with the custom soundtrack tomorrow.

Oh, and beat the crap out of that badass dude in Valkyria 3 as well...

Git -version (0.5.0) of Naev.

EDIT: Wow. They have now a dedicated web page for the game at naev.org.

Today, I played Rudger's Adventure and Eusis' Adventure.

I got stuck in Rudger's Adventure. I tried everything, but it's probably the luck of the dice that is failing me. So I played Eusis' Adventure instead.

Eusis' Adventure is even shorter than Anne's Adventure, but it's more action-packed. But just like in Anne's Adventure, there's a magical maze inside this one that makes it impossible reliably map. It's even worse here. Oh well...
