I had to refer to a walkthrough for Huey's Adventure yesterday. I had tried everything with the items. The solution was devious. First the game scares you from looking at that particular spot, and then it drops the item needed to complete the game there. Urrgh.

Today I played and completed Shilka's Adventure! It had some funny moments. M.I.J.E.T. would have you believe that Huey's Adventure is the funniest, but I disagree; Shilka's Adventure is the funniest!

Nei's Adventure is next.

I played and completed Nei's Adventure! Poor Nei. :'( I felt sad for her as she was walking through Paseo, getting shooed away by everyone. At any rate, it's a good prequel for her. But now I find myself wondering when she actually split from Neifirst. Food for thought for another thread, I guess.

Hey, everyone, please make your posts more meaty! I've noticed that recently posts have been getting shorter, reduced to simple "I'm playing X and bought Y." announcements.

I decided to play Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. I absolutely love the music of the era, and while I can see how much violence gets glorified in the game, I enjoy just grabbing a car and driving it around- I just wish they could go a little faster, since I upsetting a car's balance on undulating curves. I also like how there aren't any roads where the other people move faster than the quickest car you can drive, unlike San Andreas.

Based on Nei's Adventure, what little I know about the script in PS II, and my personal conjecture, I think Neifirst escaped the Bio Plant at 8-10 months of age, depending on her exact rate of growth, and Nei gradually worked up to breaking free over time, succeeding somewhere at 11-15 months age. That's what I think happened, anyway- there's too many variables to address without a proper discussion, so I'll wait until someone makes a thread.

Oh, yeah, Benoit, did you happen to find a use for the herb in Nei's Adventure? When I tried to use it when Nei was both hurt and unhurt, the game said something to the effect of it's a bad idea to use it at that time. I was kinda looking forward to getting Nei to fly high in the sky on that catnip....

The herb disappears after you try to use it, so I think the catnip serves its purpose by telling you how Nei feels when she sniffs it.

Nei's game is pretty brutal. I mean, her story is. I'm taking screenshots of it right now as I'm replaying it. As if I'm not crazy enough, I've decided to write out the scripts of each of the text games. I suppose they'll be somewhat like walkthroughs, but I'm not really into walkthroughs, especially for these short text games. If you're going to play the games, just play the games, for chrissake. The scripts will be for anyone who wishes to know what happens in the game without playing them. I think it's important, because the games do offer a lot of character development that was missing from PSII. Except Rolf's game, which I find bizarre and has continuity issues.

I think people who want to know what happens in the games should just play them. They're short, and in most cases, easy enough.

What continuity issues does Rolf's game have?

I understand the thought behind "they should just play them," but sometimes that's hard to do. I don't see this as any different than writing out the script of any of the major games. It wouldn't be like a thorough walkthrough.

Anyway, the BIG continuity issue in Rolf's game is Scion. Is there a Scion on Motavia, too? Actually, that might be the only continuity issue. I'm mainly irked by how stupid his game's story is. It was disappointing.

Been playing Rome Total War: Barbarian Invasion again. I love that game. You could probably write an entire novel based on just one campaign.

Been thinking of playing my PS2 games, but I need to buy a new memory card for that. I filled up the old one, and I don't want to delete any files.

Finished Alien Breed: Impact. It was a good experience. A bit repetitive at times, but the graphics are pretty good (in that they create a great atmosphere). The really is Dead Space from a top-down perspective. The only other difference is that you kill Starship Trooper style aliens instead of necromorphs.

I'll start the second game shortly. The 3rd game also came out this week on PSN.

I have been playing more Macross Triangle Frontier using the F-14 Tomcat and MiG 29 in atmosphere stages, and CRAP, do they suck... Even grunt flying drones shoot my ass out of the sky...

Valkyria 3 is on hold. Several days I played it a bit too hard, scoring close to 80 hours in a week... Much more than the healthy amount. I'm close to the end and my squad is actually overpowered because of the equipment I unlocked and what I got from killing enemy aces... So far, I have to say that this third squad I have played with is definitely the best. While many characters and two of the leads of Valkyria 2 grew on me and the cast of Valkyria 1 is one of the most memorable ones I have ever encountered, the Nameless squad from 3 definitely has won my rather frigid heart. Each character is interesting, with some, especially the two heroines and a few others the most lovable characters I have encountered in MANY years.

I'll see what I play for the next few days from among the PS2 games that still remain... I still haven't forgotten about that bastard who broke into my apartment and robbed me, selling a portion of my collection.

I've picked up Sonic Rush Adventure again the past weekend. Finished the remainder of the missions. I'm now trying to get an S rank on all the stages. It's amazing how much replay value this game has thanks to good stage design and fun mini-games. Sonic Rush wasn't as fun to replay, so I quickly gave up trying to S rank that one.

I'm forcing myself to play Bayonetta again. That's right. Forcing myself.

The game itself is good. Very, very good. I compare it to Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, as both games are fast paced, tense, hardcore games. Still, I found myself feeling done with Bayonetta after finishing it once, not feeling interested in unlocking extra costumes, some of which are the stupidest forms of fanservice I have ever seen in a game. I also didn't feel interested in unlocking the remaining weapons nor setting higher scores.

Why am I playing it again?

I'm trying to decide if it was worth buying it. If I decide it wasn't upon finishing it for a second time, I'm going to get rid of it. Same with Lost Planet and Enchanted Arms... Only in the latter's case, I will break with a hammer, as no one wants it. Yes, it was that bad...

After jumping through a whole bunch of hoops to do so, I decided to play Phantasy Star Generation 2 on my computer. You can tell I have less than half the processor power the emulator requires, I don't have an inkling on how to read any of the Japanese text, and I don't really care for some of the newer character designs, but it was a fun challenge to make the blasted thing work, and Nei seems to have a very nice bottom, when I watch her fighting. (Yes, I am perverse like that.)

It's interesting how the emulator gets slower and slower as the laptop continues to get warmer and warmer...
