A discussion about Phantasy Star 3

Hi, I want to hear everyone's oppinion on Phantasy Star 3. I personally enjoyed PS3, as it was the first of the Phantasy Star series I had played, but it has taken alot of harsh criticism and ridicule. I really think it deserved better, but what do you think? <i></i>

Even with all its flaws, PSIII is still a great game in my opinion. Playing thru three different generation of characters is very original for a game, then the way the music improves the more the members of the party, the variety of monster, I don't know if anyone has noticed but there are really a LOT of differen types of monsters (not just of different colours!). Then the greatness of the musical score. And I'm sure there is more, it's only that at the moment I can't remember...<br>Unfortunatly it was rushed, and the team behind it was assembled to make this game, so they probably worked without the necessary passion to achieve greatness. That explains why, even with a great characted design, the monsters have only 2-4 frames of animation. So that's why the mazes are so semplic, and so on. Of all four it was the game with most potential, it's a shame that only a small bit of this potential was actually used.

Yeah I like PS3 even though it has faults it's still a great game. It has tried something that none of the other Phantasy Star games had tried. But it kinda kept the story to a small part with obvious endings.

I like PSIII as much as the other Phantasy Star games.<br>It had a lot of potential, and was original with its generations system. The music was cool as well.<p>The reason why this game is like it is now is because, as you know, it was rushed. But why? Because the development team didn't get enough time from Sega, so they had to be quick to reach the deadline. Cartridge space was also a problem; they didn't have enough to achieve what the head of the team wanted.<br>The head of the team, who's now no longer working for Sega, actually made many plans for this game and had a lot of ideas; he didn't want to let down the Phantasy Star name.<br>But sadly, due to the above noted problems, it wasn't meant to be fully developed...

I think that Ps3 is the most playable of them all, don't ask me why. Maybe because it was my first Phantas Star and has the orignally generation thingg that I have never seen in another game since the first day I played this game.

all of the possible ones. dunno how much times i ended it but i should see all of the endings and of course played all the generations . lol i was so turned by that generation think which i have never seen before. i was just going it over and over just mixing my genes and looking what will it turn out . nice game a i have to add, but i couldnt just stand that poor battle mode

I finished with all the four. I could say my favorite ending is when you find Neopalm.

Completed at least twice per character. First with Nial's Sons then with Ayn's ones.<br>I loved this game so much I had written in a notebook the entire script for every generation and character...and, as someone has certainly noticed, my nickname comes from this game.

What a surprise, a fellow italian here.<p>BTW I couldn't stop playing it until I completed the game with all four generation. Out of four I only liked two endings, the one with contact with Neo Mota and the one with the "first contact" between palmans and earthmens, which is also the most fitting in the PS storyline IMHO.

PsIII is a great game, the only thing that I find very disturbing is the lack of useful magic.<p>As for the endings, I like Aron's ending the best... or maybe Seans....Arrg! my memory's failing me...the one where you end up on earth..it's Arons right?

PS III was quite enjoyable but if you played II you'd notice much lacking.<br>1) The battle scene were hidiously awfull and techniques besides healing were crap. Especialy damage.<br>2) There wasn't really that much interaction between, the characters... also wren and mieu were probably the most silent of 'm all. They only speak a few sentences at start thats it.<br>3) I personaly found that you could be attacked a bit too much... sometimes 4-5 times in a single screen, each step another one.<br>4) No standard tragedies... like ps2 nei death and rest later all too and stuff. and PS 4 Alys kick the can...<p>Did have good sides too:<br>1) Multi generations<br>2) wren parts ^.^ loved the tune <p>I personaly like Aron best, since you had laya with you... she qppeals more to me, also kara wore a cute long dress, instead of some butchy suit I never like Sean a lot since.... cause of having to call your father in law your uncle is weird... (lune was maya's nephew... talking about inter marriages.)<br>
