An interesting tidbit about PS III

Postby Lord Khyron » Mon Feb 16, 2004 11:56 pm

I think I have come to the conclusion of why Dark Force decided to have the Palmans of Alisa 3 destroy themselves! I will use these two lines from the compendium:
AW 1284 - "AW 341 - La Shiec learns the secret of the Algol Solar System's genesis. Forming a space-time gate, he comes into contact with the sealed-away spirit-life form. As a result, he summons the projected body of the Profound Darkness, Dark Force, and becomes its loyal servant. That same year, a reign of terror begins.
Eusis, who has become a Motabian Agent, is assigned to the Biosystem incident. Before long, Eusis and party are marked as notorious sympathizers of the underground resistance. The resistance discovers that Eusis and the others are being held on the prison satellite Gaila; Tyler, commander of the raider warship Landeel, is dispatched to rescue them. Shortly before that, the underground resistance's young leaders, Ohario Sa Riik and Aina Le Cille, succeed in cutting off their spaceship's remote control system from Mother Brain, and, before the fall of Gaila, evacuate many people in rescue ships left over from the time of the Conjunction.* Two people of the La Shiec bloodline are among them. These tens of ships start a journey to look for a new world beyond their solar system. Immediately afterwards, Eusis and company defeat Dark Force, Mother Brain, and the Earthmen race, but what happened after that is unknown."
I have come to the conclusion that Dark Force wanted revenge on the descendants of the ruler that failed him. We all know Lashiec is punished in PS IV with his undead state..
This also explains why RULAKIR and DF shared a common bond. Rulakir was Orakio's brother, so he has LaShiec's blood in him, and who better to feed DF than the descendant of the Profound Darkness' original servant?
I have come to the conclusion that it is Orakio and Laya that are the descendants of Lashiec.
Descendants of Lashiec would be famous and Orakio and Laya are the two spoken of.
Orakio fits the bloodline because of Rulakir's tie to Dark Force.

There's a problem with that. The Compendium says that two persons from the bloodline were on the ship, but if you say they are Orakio and Laya, then there are three, since Rulakir is Orakio's twin brother.

Let me correct myself, I made a typo. I meant to say it would be Orakio and Rulakir as the descendants of Lashiec.
Laya is just a chick DF decided to enlist.
Thanks for the correction Benoit

Please don't take this post the wrong way or anything, but how can you guys know for certain that Orakio's family are descendants of Lassic when there was hardly no indication of them being so in PSIII?
I'll give out my reasons why I don't agree with the bloodline thing.
1. How do we know that Lassic has any offspring or relatives when his family weren't apparent in PS1?
2. In the Japanese version, Orakio's surname is Sa Ri'ik, while Lassic's full name is La Shiec.
[Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1077584657[/TIME]]

[Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1077584696[/TIME]]

Why would they give Lassic/Lashiec the honor of calling him by his full name? ;)
No, La Shiec is his first name(s).
The Orakio family being descendants of La Shiec comes from the Compendium.

No, La Shiec is his first name(s).

Well, AFAIK, La Shiec is the surname, Reipard is the name. Can't remember where I read it, maybe the translated compendium, or maybe elsewhere.

Ah, okay, thanks for correction.
Then we got a problem, since Orakio's surname is Sa Riiik.

Ah, okay, thanks for correction.
Then we got a problem, since Orakio's surname is Sa Riiik.

Names tend to get modified and/or corrupted, particularly after a 2000 year period. 'Sa Riik' doesn't sound a million miles away from 'La Sheic'.
In addition to this, after the events of PSI, I'd imagine being of Lassic's bloodline is probably something you'd want to conceal. The families of deposed rulers, particularly the villainous kind, tend to be less than popular ;)

interesting theory
only one thing i'd like explaining... Lashiec was obviously a mage, but Orakio wasn't. in ps3, every child you have with Layan (therefore mage) bloodline seems to have magic of some sort. why isnt this so with Orakio?

And with an added prejudice against them, perhaps?
Pure conjecture but great fun!
