Solo Lena vs. Dark Force

Think it's possible? I kind of doubt it, but you never know. Can she even equip the Royal Needler? I don't even think she can.

Since "Solo Lena vs. Dark Force" can't be done without hacking, someone should be able to make it happen.

According to RPG Classics, the strongest needler she can equip is the Ceramic Needler... but she can equip the Royal Knife, which is nearly twice as strong, and she might even be able to equip two of them!

For Lena to be effective, however, her stats needs to be maxed out. Once it's determined which of her stats have a limit of 255 and which have a limit of 999, set those stats to max once she hits her max level.¹ Equip her with a Royal Knife, Royal Crown, Royal Chest, Force Boots, and either a second Royal Knife or Royal Emel. Then, pack the rest of her inventory with Star Mists. She is going to NEED all the Star Mists her inventory can hold and her HP maxed out to take down Dark Force solo.

1: I don't know if or where any overflow will occur. If it does, reduce the stat number to accommodate whatever causes the overflow.

Nah, elevating her stats past their natural ceiling would totally defeat the purpose. I want to figure out whether solo Lena *as is* can do it.

Max level is fine, though. Since I have no interest whatsoever in actually going solo Lena through the whole game (I don't even know if you can get her into generation 2 or 3 without some serious hacking that is beyond what I am capable of), I'll just max out her EXP with a hex editor and go from there.

Royal Knife is not accessible without hacking, so that's out. Looks like her equipment will be either 2 Laconian Knife or 1 Laconian Knife and 1 Royal Emel, Royal Crown, Royal Chest, Force Boots.

Interestingly enough, if you go into the Sage Isle cave while Aquatica is still frozen, it becomes unfrozen when you leave, but then becomes frozen again once you enter and leave a town (even Cille).

I didn't think she would based on what is normally available to her, but congrats on actually trying to make it work.

Now that you've done Phase 1 testing (attempting to do so within normal game parameters), now it's time for Phase 2 testing: doing whatever it takes for Lena to beat Dark Force solo.

Yep, soloing in Phantasy I-III can be a difficult task. You likely could solo the game with someone like Wren or Mieu, however, and doing it with the heroes by generation could be possible. With people like Lena or Ryan... not much...

In Phantasy Star IV, however, just about all bosses are possible with any character solo, but some can be very hard (e. Raja x Sa Lews, Gryz x Xe A Thouls).

I don't see any way that it would even be possible at all in Phantasy Star. At least you have Star Mist in PS2, making it theoretically possible, though extremely difficult.
