Another possible PS2 and PS3 connection?

Lena is from Satera, the princess nonetheless. Rhys surely had met her before the events of PSIII. And why wouldn't he travel across thw worlds to find her? He was young anyway and needed some adventure!
And the dialogue notwithstanding, Rhys was still a fool for marrying Maia, even if they were _in love_

I agree with Benoit about Rhys marriage and think that the Dark Force in PS2 got onboard Noah when it arrived in Algol, and then corrupted the earthmen (or not, we all know very well that humans are pretty much naturally capable of doing what they did there). We don´t know how long they have been there, all we know is that Mother Brain was built around 400 years prior to PS2, but how about the time before that?
"A gift to your world from us" or "a gift to your world from ours" could be Dark Force´s speech (more likely than PD´s, who would not consider its world as a collective property to use the pronoum "us", as said above), being Dark Force only one of the countless ugly things that live in PD´s dimension. We see speaking Dark Forces in PS3 and 4, why not another one?
And the time loop cliché is awful.

Lena No Satera
A girl who has always watched over Kane from the shadows, concealing a fiercely brave heart inside. She is the princess of the country of Satera, and she was actually betrothed to Kane in early childhood and has been brought up as his fiancée since then. [Back up a minute - if Kane and Lena's parents had arranged a marriage alliance between their children, then how come Kane's parents are presiding over his wedding ceremony with Marlena, thus "officially sanctioning" a different marriage?] She has an attractive body and a gentle disposition, but when she is deeply invested in a battle, she shows her courageous side.

Found this here:
http://home.att.net/%7ERACapowski/PS/comtrans.htm#PSIII
So, is Rhys a pimp? (maybe he takes after Ryan) #)

The profound darkness was evil, not retarded. I'm pretty sure it would have read "my world" instead of "our world" if it had been the PD. I think it's safe to say they used the grammar they wanted.

"A gift to your world from us" or "a gift to your world from ours" could be Dark Force´s speech (more likely than PD´s, who would not consider its world as a collective property to use the pronoum "us", as said above), being Dark Force only one of the countless ugly things that live in PD´s dimension.
There was a good reason why I refer the Profound Darkness as "we" instead of "I". It is, as Mono denied on using the term, a collective property created by the accumulation of the spirits filled with hatred and vengance that was trapped inside the Demon Seal, Algol-- and this is indeed true because it is stated in the Compendium.

3 out of 4 endings of Ps 3 have the ship coming to the "3rd planet from the sun"
on one of those endings, the 3rd planet is Earth.

But the thing is, Khyron, is that out of two of those three endings that revolves around the planet Earth, the Alisa III encountered the planet after the last Earthmen left it to find a new home-- a dead planet.

By looking at it now, we must regret that we were fools. We knew the evil force, Dark Farusu, existed in our minds, but was unable to suppress it. We soon began to grow fond of controlling the natural world through scientific means. We only recognized we were killing ourselves when the planet began to crumble before our very own eyes. The survivors, which you see now, barely made it to this ship and escaped.

Where did you get this from? I've tried looking around the net searching for translation of the PS2's Japanese script, and I had no such luck in finding it. A link to the script would be preferable to this debate, please.

[Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1108239464[/TIME]]

In two of the four endings, they encounter a planet that is third from the sun. But there's no indication that it is Earth. Actually, there's even indication that it isn't, in one of the endings. The planet has two moons.

Where did you get this from?

He got it from Naflign's site. You can find the link on my webring. ;)

Oh come on! Rhys travels across half Alisa III to get his bride back, and then he would marry Lena, who he just got to know?

I actually felt the same way when I first played the game. I was all like, heck, I'm marrying Maia!
But, then I read in the original Japanese game script that where someone says you were originally engaged to Lena, but fell for Maia anyway.
Someone said why would his parents sanction the marriage? Probably because a young man in love is hard to argue with, and it came down to agreeing with the marriage or having Rhys elope and shame the kingdom.
This game could have used a lot more character development. If Rhys spent monthes on the road with Lena. It is very likely a relationship could have blossomed, but we're never shown it. So the only way you're likely to pick Lena is if you like her in fights -- and I know I didn't.
It's a weird system given the lack of development...

Ok Benoit, I accept your rebuttals concerning the Rhys-Maia marriage as being reasonable, but I still lean more towards the Rhys-Lena marriage on probability. The only thing that would really convince me that Rhys wasn't a total idiot for marrying Maia is if it were revealed that Rhys' love for her wasn't just some Romeo-Juilet type of love that dies out when your character changes. And certainly Rhys had some changing experiences on his quest. SO, if Rhys was truly resolved in his quest to find and then _still_ marry Maia, then all right that decision wouldn't bother me anymore. But of course we only have a minimal dialogue to judge from and so we have come up with this grand speculative perspective. I think it's pretty dang ingenius.
PeaGuy: that makes sense what you say about DF, it's just interesting to think about it the other way around.
And the time loop is NOT a horrible cliche'! Sure, now in the year 2005 it is after our brains have been bombarded by time-loop and time travel plots from every sort of entertainment, but back in the early 90's it wasn't! It was a novel idea! Think of all the movies and books that were prodiced and written in the early nineties that had some kind of time-travel genre about it.
