This weekend I played Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Great game. I like the Star Wars series, especially the original trilogy. This game is nice because it is placed before Episode 4 and tells the story of Darth Vader's little pupil who wasn't that little at all... being an adult with a seemingly bad temper. The gameplay is also very fun. Fast paced and rewarding for using different methods to kill opponents (hey, this is a violent game after all) instead of just using a lightsaber, such as electrocuting them, blowing them away, throwing them against a wall, or what I understood late in the game... To use the environment itself to defeat enemies.
One particular thing I enjoyed greatly was that the stages are all different, even if two being second visits to two of the same planets I had been in before. The graphics, while a bit odd, especially in facial animations, are rather nice to look at. My only real complaint would be that the game still has bugs, in one instance freezing the game in place, except I could still go back from the menu to the title screen and load the stage, which made me lose progress, but not so much thanks to the checkpoint feature.
The music is another good point. Typical star wars fare. The voice acting is one particular point I feel needs to be mentioned. Excellent. Simply excellent.
Now that I finished it, I'll play the extras AND see if I can preorder both Macross Triangle Frontier and Valkyria of the Battlefield 3 for the PSP. I'm talking about the Japanese versions. Macross games won't ever come out in non Japanese territories and Valkyria 3 isn't going to come out for nearly another year. Year that I'm not going to wait out, especially with the inclusion of Aya Endou as one of the two heroines of the game, the Valkyria named Riela Marcellis...
Second in my priority list is Mass Effect 2 for the PS3... I have played the XBox 360 version, but have never enjoyed it to the fullest... It is, after all, not mine.
Sadly, I'm still considering buying a Crapbox 360 only because of Halo: Reach... which I have already beaten. That, and maybe the Gays of War series, which is, for a lack of a better term, highly entertaining... Especially in my own language... Something I really envy Microsoft users.
