Chapter 2

I make the short walk into Motavia University's primary campus here in Piata, and I look into the various classrooms as I make my way to the lecture hall. A teacher discussing something about the Algo system... a student using a chemistry set... somebody playing with some weird machine that's spewing smoke... I hear someone running behind me, and I think I know who it is...

Hey! Marika! Hold up!

I turn around to a girl with dirty blonde hair in a ponytail. Another Biology major I know. Hello, Akkosua.

Where were you last night?

Err... I blush a little to convey a little embarrassment. I probably should've prepared an excuse already.

Jeez... I've been worried about you! You've always been studying or writing reports or Light-knows-what every single day for the past three months!

Hey, I've been busy, and-

And, when I finally manage to get your nose pulled outta your books for one night, you disappear into the dorm before I could even try to find you! You are seriously the biggest shut-in on campus!

Sorry, I forgot...

A malicious smile formed on Akkosua's lips. Well, I'm gonna talk to your professors about getting you out of class today, and there isn't a chance in hell that you're escaping me again. One way or another, by the end of tonight, you are gonna be drunk off your rocker, and you're gonna have a damn boyfriend, even if it kills me!

...Alright, but at least let me go to the lecture on the current theory of genetics, first. I've been waiting all month to debate with the professor about-

Whatever. Just make sure you meet me at the bar - as soon as possible! I've already got people watching to make sure you don't escape this time.

As Akkosua walks in the direction of the Professor's lounge, I take quick note of my surroundings. I don't notice anyone staring, and I don't hear anyone follow me the rest of the way to the lecture hall, but knowing her, I'm sure someone will be watching by the time the lecture ends.
