What I meant was, whether you're on one side of the debate or the other, that debate is doing more good then the apathy of the fool who decides that he doesn't care, and that others can do the thinking for him. I believe that there are certain places in the world where society is decadent and comfortable enough that the citizens start growing complacent. At some point, they decide that it's easier to let others make the descisions. I think that we should reject this. People need to make their own critical opinions, not sit idly by while events that shape their world fly by.

I don´t know if everyone realizes that, but this is exactly what Phantasy Star 2 is about. The Earthmen´s plan. If there was something to be learned from that game is that people become complacent when they have an easy life by lending responsabilities to someone else, becoming uncapable of a fair judgement and even to form a genuine opinion about anything, and as the consequence, they became unable to carry on their lives when they lose that support. They get weakened, the apparent stability actually on the edge of a total collapse..
Some call video games futile. I say that anything that you read, do, play, live, and you don´t take a lesson from it, it becomes futile, meaningless, no matter if it´s video game or Shakespeare. If you learn anything from what you read, do, play, live, then it is useful and meaningful.
