Hugh, Kain or Anna? (PSII)

Yes. Her only advantage is that she is fast. (Ok. She learns NaZan, but at very late in game.) Having two shields equipped on her helps a bit. But not enough. She is also a good back up if Rolf runs out of TP when need to use Hinas/Ryuka. Anyway, I agree with you. If you want damage: leave her out.
Dorrinal wrote:[*]Even after a Saner/Colorscarf Anna and Shir move after Mother Brain -- reactive healing is not possible
Suprisingly you can use SaNer/Colorscarf many times and evetually theorically even Amy can be faster than Mother Brain. (You don't want Amy to be faster: Megid, MB attack, NaSar = whole lotta damage and full HP next round, assuming everyone in your party can take megid + MB attack.)
Also SaShu works that way. But SaShu does not affect on special attacks like, MB's attacks on whole party.
And it seems that Nei Sword cancels SaNer and SaShu like effects on Dark Force battle.
Anyway SaNer is quite useful in Mother Brain battle.

Dorrinal wrote:So the strongest team for defeating Mother Brain would be Kain, Rudo and Hugh (I KNOW!). In practice you don't have 2-4 Star Mist and taking Amy will make your life easier; or if you do, Anna was so useful for the rest of the game that Hugh is still level 1 and you might as well take her instead. Also since Hugh, Shir and Anna put out such terrible damage you're not hurting yourself much by taking Amy.
Shir might be more effective than Hugh, but to archieve that she needs to know NaZan. So yes, again I agree with you. It just makes your life easier just to forget Hugh, and Shir too.

Between Anna and Kain... Well. Both sucks. Kain's weakest point is when you go get Nei equipments. I don't know how well he manages with Laconian Maces against bio/dark enemies, but at least he can use his techs agains high DP enemies aka. robots. ;) Also I remember He can equip Nei Armor.

I cannot say who is better (Kain or Anna). I've always taken Anna. I guess I like slicers.

Against MB my 4'th character is there solely to heal anyway. They don't attack one single time, so it doesn't matter how strong their physical/magic attacks are. I take Amy and have her use Deban, then Saner, then she's using Nasar the remainder of the fight. Her low agility is ideal because she always acts last, so I end up with full HP going into the next round where I can have Rolf (always acts first with a Saner) use Megid to it's full potential. Kain spams Nagaj and Rudo Neishot.

If there's a quicker way to dispose of her... I haven't found it.
I will make sure that my brother died not in vain!

I keep Amy just to avoid buying trimates all the time. ;)

When I did the last two fights, I used Rudo, Anna, and Amy. I was just rushing through though. Next time I play, I am going to build up all my characters and be higher level.
I see everyone's point though. Anna took a lot of damage, I sometimes had to make Rolf use a trimate on her so she didn't die before Amy got off a na-sar. Kain would probably not have taken as much damage, and still been able to keep up, since Anna's slasher didn't do a whole lot of damage. Against a group it was devastating, but against a single foe, not so much.

He can wear Nei Armor. ;)
I think Anna and Kain are even. If you leave Anna out then have Rudo, Anna and Kain you have a party that deald quite good amount of damage. But now you would need Deban even more so Shir might be good idea. I don't know how fast Kain is, but Anna could also use snow crown...

Anna's more fun to look at :P

I really do like all the characters. the deciding thing for the final party for me was that I had already built up their levels, and Anna get's a Nei Weapon. That's like the game giving me a hint.

What ever you choose, just leave Hugh out of all the choices. ;)

I liked Hugh. That one technique he did, Vol, saved me a lot of trimates and trips to the cloners.

Well you're right. He is actully good at one point of game. You can get him right after visiting (meaning you can get him just by entering Biosystems Lab, no need to go trough it and get the recorder) Biosystems Lab. He can be really good ally there. But since you already have Rudo and Amy in your party, it's really hard to choose.
You cannot leave Nei out and Leaving Amy out means she cannot gain any levels while she's away. I guess you could leave Rudo out for a while. His attack stays the same beacuase he uses shooting weapons also He has pretty good defence so that it would be easy to take him back later. I've never tried this, though.

I left Rudo out of my party through most of the Dams, and it was no big deal getting him back in later, even about 6 levels lower than Rolf, he still had more HP.

Last time I played was "Rolf and the girls" party. The game got pretty nasty at dams because of the high AC of robots. Vans vere quite annoying. I had to use NaFoi quite often.

Yeah, I tried the Rolf n' girls strategy, but for some reason, whenever I bring that party, Dark Force chooses to make them all try to run while he lazily slaughters them. It only happens to me with that team.
I wonder what people will see in the final days?

i brought Hugh with me everywhere when i first played. (he was my favorite character...still is ^^) oh god but that was HARD. i am not a throw-the-controller-in-frustration sort of person, but i did a lot of that in those last 2 battles.

I'd keep him in dams because his attacks make good damage to robots. Altough you can have Kain there too. ;)
