Phantasy Star Online was released for the GameCube years ago when Nintendo didn't even want to go online, and that worked out well enough.

Nintendo also didn't have friend codes and restrictions to text either.

Sony, at least until some years ago, made low-quality hardware that would break quickly enough, so consumers would buy it again. This led to higher sales and more profit. Early PlayStations and PlayStation 2s were likely to break only a couple years in. I also dislike Sony for their arrogance and lies that were partly responsible for the demise of the Dreamcast.

I never had any issues with my Sony consoles deteriorating due to cheap and economical hardware. My Sega Saturn and Dreamcast gave me the most grief. Consoles are finite like any other machine - doesn't matter who build them.

And the first Playstation owned the DC by itself, btw. When the PS2 came out, Sega was out of the console making business.

That was because they knew how to get the trust of their consumers.

There is more than party games. I haven't bought any. Either your tastes are wildly different than mine, or you're not looking.

Well i dont play the wii much so i geuss its a little bit of column A a little bit of column B. Best solo game i have is Sonic and the secret rings, but that as good offline multiplayer too.

I agree with Semix. Chances are, if you have a console and are bored with it, odds are you're just not looking hard enough for the games that will make you interested in it again. Or you've just given up on the console and are using the "lack of entertaining games" as an excuse to move on to the next one.

To this day, I can find a NES game I think is worth playing thru that I HAVE NOT played thru... yet...

I remember 1 I was playing thru and was really interested in it, till my comp crashed and blew out all the info I had on my HD.

There are much better games on the Wii than this one.

Maybe it's because he feels that Metroid and Zelda games are a bunch of repetitive shit.

As for the text restriction, guess what; there was only text on GameCube as well. And I personally like it that way.

I believe you. So you had a different experience. That doesn't change reality.

Thank you Captain Obvious. But a game console breaking after two or three years is not normal at all. Most NESs kept working. Most Master Systems kept working. So did most SNESs and Mega Drives. And so on. It wasn't until the PlayStation that we got abnormal failure rates.

Bullshit. The PS2 was released in all the territories almost a half year before Sega announced that they would discontinue the Dreamcast.
That was because they knew how to get the trust of their consumers.

Trust? Which trust? The PlayStation was pretty much the only player in town, gaining a monopoly due to Sega and Nintendo's mistakes. It was PR and some more of Sega's mistakes, plain and simple.

I rather liked spraying stuff in Super Mario Sunshine.
Get Xenoblade Chronicles!

Something ive noticed about Sony, they have nearly dumped the PSP. Although there is the new PSP-3000 (very little upgrades) and the Resistance with it, there hasnt been anything new on it for a while. Needs to get GTA:SA stories, that would be nice on the go.

Please provide proof of being able to communicate with people nationally and internationally that you haven't exchanged friend codes with...including text.

My Megadrive and Saturn are working still. And my friend's NES is working still. That NES is in use at least once in a week.
Compare that to Xbox 360.

My first big grey block of a Gameboy still works. A friend of mine recently played through Pokemon Blue twice in three days :P

I have a Dreamcast that is at least 5-6 years old (probably around 7-8) and it only gives me bullshit when I'm trying to run my Genesis emulator on it.

"But dude! Didn't you say you had a Genesis? Two, actually???"

Why, yes! Thank you for remembering. The problem is I only have the AC cable. I think I have 1 controller for it, but even if I did, I only have Shining Force 2 (awesome game) for the Genesis. Emulator feeds most of my genesis cravings.

I'm quite certain both Genesis' and even the SNES still run properly. NES, not so sure. I don't have squat for it. Thinking about e-baying some of the gear I need.

Random ramblings aside, the Playstation was the first console I ever had that kind of problem with (Altho, we all recall having to blow on the NES cartridges as some sort of way of making them play again. Same thing for SNES & Genesis cartridges... man, I hated that s#!*). I still remember reloading my FF7 save and, after 4 hours of playing and forgeting to save, the f***ing PS froze on me. Overheated...

My playstation actually did die on me after it's 3rd year, but I heard about the PS dieing after 2 long before that. I remember hearing the PS2 had a similar issue. The problem seems to have migrated over to the X-box 360 in the form of the "Red Ring of Death". Sony should count their lucky stars that it doesn't happen to the PS3 (Even if we all know Sony knew about the PS & PS2 before they were even released and didn't do squat about it).

All in all, those are the only 3 consoles I remember people having a lot of trouble with.

C'mon, some people still have Atari 2600 and other pre-NES consoles that still work!
