I hate how FF games get such good reviews and so much praise on their stories. Really, they're just strait forward, average and unnessesarily dramatic. Could someone inspire at least a little thinking in RPG gamers?(Besides PS games, of course). And don't even get me started with soul-less MMORPGs like Everquest and Morrowind...
People who say that PSO Episodes 1 and 2 doesn't have a story just dont know what they are talking about. It does have a story...and an awesome one, at that, but you just have to do a little digging...and this is how it should be, in games. Not all spread out to you through cinema sequences, but requiring thinking about why it happened, and what connects other events to it. Sega has always been good at this. PSO is one of the only online game that I have found has a solid story...not something gimmicky to serve as a reason to play, but a good, solid, engrossing story. This seems to be a rare thing in games today.
Don't listen to the random idiot's opinion on a game. Go out and find out yourself...and form your own opinion. PSO Episode 3 has been writtten off because of many things (card themed battles, and turned based fighting) but I think any RPG fan would enjoy it.
