The only reason people state it's bad is because PS isn't a Final Fantasy type game where you get involved in some stupid plot to overthrow a government and people. All you do is place A, Save, Place B, Save.. FF8 and 7 are very like this.
PSO's plot is made by talking and putting things together yourself. You have to speak to everyone and do everything to unlock it.
It's not like FF games where all you do is talk to people over and over to get the plot, Or that it's revealed at the beginning.
Those same people who say Episode 3 plot's suck, Also said PSO 1 and 2 had no plot, When it did!
I am not allowed to SPOIL you as to the true diverting plotlines on Episode 3.
But for you FF fans, You'll be dissapointed because the game doesn't just TELL you what is going on.
Oh heaven forbid you have to THINK in a RPG. I mean my god, It's unheard of!

LOL! Seems it was worth it that I waited for Lord Khyron to reply. :)
I agree with him.
Why would you believe a random idiot? Episode III has a great plot and story! So do Episode I & II. And there are still dumbasses that think Episode I & II has no plot or story, probably because of the reasons Lord Khyron stated.
Blah.

Hey, I said I heard rumours, doesn't necessarily mean that I believe them or think that it's true.
All I care about is learning a bit about the plot of Episode 3 because I am interested in the game. Simple as that.

[Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1080163949[/TIME]]

If there is something bad in all the PSO games, it certainly is NOT the plot or the story-telling.
Doubts may be on the battle system...

Your all right! When you think about Ep 1 and 2, the only thing isn't to just go through numerous areas to reach the end boss and save rico, theres more!
Story about the Black Hound and the Traders
Dr. Osto's research
Unlocking the secrets about D Cellular organisms
Plus how well they tie both episodes together
I hope in the future they expand some these storys and start more! Plus there are some i don't know about with not being online.

There are extensive ties into episode 1/2 in Episode 3.
What I find intriguing is the cut scenes explain much and the dialogue reveals ties into Episode 1/2 characters!
I mean this is 21 years later, But the people of Episode 1/2 seem to live on.

I hate how FF games get such good reviews and so much praise on their stories. Really, they're just strait forward, average and unnessesarily dramatic. Could someone inspire at least a little thinking in RPG gamers?(Besides PS games, of course). And don't even get me started with soul-less MMORPGs like Everquest and Morrowind...
People who say that PSO Episodes 1 and 2 doesn't have a story just dont know what they are talking about. It does have a story...and an awesome one, at that, but you just have to do a little digging...and this is how it should be, in games. Not all spread out to you through cinema sequences, but requiring thinking about why it happened, and what connects other events to it. Sega has always been good at this. PSO is one of the only online game that I have found has a solid story...not something gimmicky to serve as a reason to play, but a good, solid, engrossing story. This seems to be a rare thing in games today.
Don't listen to the random idiot's opinion on a game. Go out and find out yourself...and form your own opinion. PSO Episode 3 has been writtten off because of many things (card themed battles, and turned based fighting) but I think any RPG fan would enjoy it.

Thats where i disagree, i do believe that Ep 3 has a good story, but i just can't handle turn based, i need free movement action, its just more realistic; think, would you stand there and wait your turn for a gigantic beast of some sort to attack you, no! You'd get in there and hack it to bits, this is another one of my philosophy's :)

If you can handle classic games that are turn-based, you can also handle this one. ;)
Besides, you CAN do a defensive move when your opponent attacks.

theoretically in video games there is no real time. Because things are timed and actions timed.
Try attacking a dimenian in PSO at the same time he hits you, chances are you'll do your BLOCK for his attack then you hit him.
That right there is turn based, He hit first, you block, You attack.
Now if he knocks you down, you must get back up and THEN you can attack.
Monsters usually miss once or twice until you attack. The 3rd attack they do will hit you.
There is no true real-time in video games. This is true in RPG's.
FF series, alot of them used the TIME bar, it fills up, you attack. But while you're waiting for YOUR TURN, the enemy can attack. And some of them have no restrictions.
SO hating a game based on TURN BASED or REAL TIME is ridiculous. They are both the same.

Real time is when the enemy doesn't wait for you to move and kicks your little tail because you take forever to move. But even that is determined by timers and turn based action.
Turn based is the enemy waits for you to move, then attacks you.
Both are basically turn based.
What in the name of hades do you think Initiative is? Who attacks FIRST. Turn based right there.

Well, benoit, the classic games never had good enough graphics to do what we can do now.

That's true, but that doesn't disprove my point. If you can understand and bear that, you also can with newer games. :)
