Phantasy Star Generation 1 Walkthrough - Part 7: The Towers Holding Legendary Weapons
Lost Island Tower
There are a lot of good chests here. Just don't waste your time with the chests with Ruoginins or the one on the third floor which has only 1 meseta (and probably has a trap, since most of the chests with ridiculous amounts have traps). Notice that on the second floor there is a secret way that leads nowhere. Actually, this is where you'll land if you fall on the trap on the third floor. The chest at point number 1 on the second floor has a trap, so use the option in the middle to disarm it. The chest at point number 1 of the third floor also has a trap. If you're at about level 40, as I recommended, and don't want to fight the battles (because you'll need to save your MP for the dragon), you can run away from the battles with ease (I ran away a lot and I only got blocked one time). At point number 1 of the last floor you'll find the Red Dragon.
Alis and Odin must attack normally and Lutz must use Gi-Thunder (ギタンドレ). On the first turn Myau must use Shield (ワーラ) and Magic Shield (ムワーラ) in the second. On the following turns Myau must use Power (パウマ) on Odin and then on Alis. If the effects from Shield and Magic Shield run out, use them again. If the effects are still working, Myau can use Power on himself and then attack. Whenever it's necessary use Lutz's Gi-Heal (ギヒール) to heal who needs it. If you're at about level 40 you probably won't have any problems to defeat him. After the victory you'll receive the mighty Laconian Sword (ラコニアンソード), the best weapon available for Alis! Don't forget to equip it! Then use the Soothing Flute (スーズフルート) to leave. Use Alis' Teleport (トルーパ) to go to Gothic (ガシコの村). If you want, you can buy that super expensive Light Pendant (ライトペンダント) in the shop now, since you might be rich (I'm with 89563 Meseta right now). That will allow you to continue without having to buy more Searchlights from now on. Go to the hospital, save the game and then leave Gothic. Go south and take the way between the mountains (which we ignored when we went to save Dr. Luveno). You'll arrive at Medusa Tower. If you want, please consult the map available here at PS Cave.
Medusa Tower
This tower without a map is a nightmare... There are a lot of good treasures on the underground floor, but honestly I didn't even bother to take them, I would have had to walk too much... :D
Notice that there's a secret passageway on the underground floor. It leads to the cave where we found Odin, which is pretty interesting because it never made sense to me the fact that Medusa lives in that tower and we've found Odin petrified in that other cave in the original version. If you decide to take the treasures on the underground floor (first map), use the option in the middle of the menu to prevent them from exploding in your face. Sorry but I'm not in the mood to go there to see if they have traps or not. I've already finished this game twice on my PlayStation 2 and now I'm finishing it for the third time on an emulator (because there's no TV in the room where my PC is), and the emulator doesn't run nicely on my PC so be glad that I'm on the 34th page of a Word document doing this walkthrough for which I won't be paid. :D You must have noticed that I don't give a damn about the chests with ridiculous amounts or with Perolimates or Ruoginins, so I won't verify if they contain traps either. The rest of the chests don't have traps. If you're at level 40 or above, it is usually easy to run away from the battles too. At point number 2 of the 7th floor you'll find Medusa.
To defeat her, it's more or less like how we did with the Red Dragon. Medusa's attack turns anyone to stone, except for Odin, because he has the Perseus Shield (you've equipped it on him, right?). If that happens use Alis' or Myau's Cure (キュアラ) on who has been petrified and the effect will be gone. Alis and Odin must attack normally and Lutz must use Gi-Wind (ギヒューン). Just like against the Red Dragon, on the first turn Myau must use Shield (ワーラ) and Magic Shield (ムワーラ) in the second. In the following turns, Myau must use Power (パウマ) on Odin and then on Alis. If the effects from Shield and Magic Shield runs out, use them again. If the effect is still working, Myau can use Power on himself and then attack. When it's necessary use Lutz's Gi-Heal (ギヒール) to heal who needs it. Just like with the Red Dragon, if you're at level 40 or above you won't have any problems defeating her. After killing Medusa you'll get the almighty Laconian Axe (ラコニアンアクス), the best weapon available for Odin (here in the remake it's in fact the best weapon, not those guns). Don't forget to equip it. Then use the Soothing Flute (スーズフルート) to leave. Use Alis' Teleport (トルーパ) to go to Gothic (ガシコの村).
If you use the consult function (L1) now, the party will decide that now they should go to Dezoris. And this is where we'll go. Use the spaceship and choose to go to Skure (スクレの町). This time you must enter the tunnel just above the spaceship. If you want, please consult the map available here at PS Cave.
